Hi eBay Community,
I’m reaching out because I’m dealing with a really frustrating situation and need some advice.
I sold a high-value item (a $2k watch) over Christmas, shipped it to the UK, and everything seemed fine at first. The item was handed over to UK customs, but it’s been stuck there, and the buyer has not received it yet.
The buyer opened a dispute with eBay, and eBay initially ruled in my favor, confirming that I had shipped the item and provided tracking. However, after that, the buyer filed a chargeback through PayPal, and despite the item being stuck in customs, PayPal refunded the buyer.
Now, eBay has credited back the dispute fees but says there's nothing else they can do. I'm left with no item, and I’m trying to get it back through the postal services. Australia Post is investigating the package, and I’ve been in contact with both Australia Post and Royal Mail, but the process has been really slow.
Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation where the buyer gets refunded but the item is still stuck in transit? Any advice on how I can get the package returned to me or escalate the issue?
I’ve done everything I can on my end, but eBay and PayPal seem to have washed their hands of it now that the chargeback has gone through.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Not on this account....do you have the item number?
Did you charge VAT (or was buyer supposed to pay at their end)?
