Hi everybody! I have a problem with the description of "new with tags" and "new without tags":

New with tags

A brand-new, unused, and unworn item (including handmade items) in the original packaging (such as the original box or bag) and/or with the original tags attached.

New without tags

A brand-new, unused, and unworn item (including handmade items) that is not in original packaging or may be missing original packaging materials (such as the original box or bag). The original tags may not be attached.

If a dress is brand new (original packaging) and never had an actual tag, which category does it belong to?

Cheers.

Hmm you could go either way with that.I've seen many new without tags but with pics of it being worn at a wedding etc & the description saying worn once.Or even the work shirt for Liquorland ir some such brand that i saw  listed as New Without Tags but in the description,"only worn to work for 2 weeks"Smiley Frustrated.

Depends what it is i guess.I think if there are no tags it will look like a cheap item so i hope it is nice enough to get attention.

if it doesn't have a tag then it's new without tag.

I would be most annoyed if I buy an item classed as new with tags and then get it only to discover it has none.

HBH is 100% correct above. To be perfectly honest, I fail to see why there should be any confusion. The terms are self-explanatory.

Yes I am much happier when things & even people are as described,no false claims, lies or drama.

If the O.P has new without tags then she can list it as such.

If a dress has been purchased new from a retail shop it would have a tag ( with the price on it)  of some sort wouldn't it?

You can buy brand new clothing items from sweatshops which have no tags, but are ready to sew your own tags into them.

What packaging are you refering to OP ?

If you are referring to the store bag, but the goods have no swing tags attached, then it should still be referred to as new without tags IMO, if you wish to avoid buyer disappointment or angst.

IMO in relation to garments, buyers expecations are that New with Tags means TAGS not bags or other wrapping, if it comes with the whole kit and kadooble that is a bonus  Cat Happy

me too.

And as I get grumpier in my old age, it would be enough to make me feel like giving a neutral dot.

I am getting sick of the occasional seller who doesn't tell the truth.

My pet hate though is the 'new without tags' being listed, where you read on and find the item has been worn.

Excuse me, but that is NOT new.

It might be 'as new', but it is not what I understand of as new without tags.
