I listed a used dvd for auction and in the description described it very accurately as used and that payment must be made within 3 days. The dvd sold last Friday (2nd Nov). After 6 days of no communication or payment from the highest bidder I sent him an invoice. Still no communication, so tonight (7 days after the auction ending) I opened an unpaid item case because I want my fvf back. Just now, I get a message from him saying "Sorry but I will not be purchasing this item. As it is a used copy and there is no refunds." What should I do?

Well, you could either offer him a refund if something goes wrong with the DVD once they have bought it, or you can close the dispute after 8 days and the buyer will get a strike and you'll get your FVF back

close the dispute and block him asap

So, I should wait out the 4 days and then close the unpaid item case? Can I block him now or do I have to wait until after the unpaid item case has ended?

I block them as soon as they get difficult, but its your call ๐

I'll block him now - thanks for your advice. ๐

Yes, wait the 4 days and then close the unpaid item case, you can't close before hand unless the buyer pays. If he pays by Paypal I think the case will automatically close. You and the buyer will not be able to leave f/b.

Thanks for the advice everyone. You're all amazing.

Sorry, I should add and be abit clearer.... if by chance he does end up paying before the UPI case closes, you both are able to leave f/b.

As far as I'm concerned, I've determined it aint worth the hassall and risking the negative so i just send through a mutual close, and request they accept it, so I get my final value fees.
what does piss me off still is the fact he waited 6 days, although my items are a bit higher in value.
So if I was you i'd be even more pissed off if i was in your position doing lower dollar higher turn over items.
but if I get a decent biding war on something real obscure and small market. and then the only competitor pulls out.
