How can you get a listening ear from eBay ?

Is there an area where you can contact eBay with questions/ideas and actually get a person who listens/advises .... rather than get the usual answer (which is just a screen they read from) ?

It seems that everyone is complaining of a huge drop in sales (me included) and none of us know where to go?

I don't want to leave eBay, but there doesn't seem to be any incentive or encouragement to sell ....

I think unlikely that you will get eBay advice or a chat or any caring about low sales.eBay advice on this would be to reduce your price & offer free post, which is the prompt on an unsold item.

It's all about the Cassini search, low DSR which may put you down the ranks or even invisible listings.Use all the apropriate keywords in your listings, review start price & postage cost to make sure you are competitive & hope for the best.

My prices are low ... I can't possible make them lower, without selling at a loss.    I have been selling for nearly 7 years, and this has only happened over the past few months which seems to be the same with many others ?

talking to EBAY is like talking to a brick wall, except the brick wall has more knowledge.  I dont sell clothes but add a buy it now on some of your items and see what sells better.

I agree & i didn't look at your listings, that's just general things to look at as a possible cause when sales are down.

I had a huge drop in views & sales for over a month.I keep record of everything & have not changed start price, kind of items etc.So i see a pattern change & know that something different is going on & many others are noticing it too.The only common factor is eBay.They can turn your listings on or off whenever they please & i think they are experimenting with it.

They don't even hide the fact that they fiddle with that as in the User Agreement somewhere that states something to the effect-'...accordingly to guide user satisfaction,an item may not appear in a search regardless of the search order" something very close to that wording. In other words if eBay think that a customer may not be happy with a sale from you if you have low DSR defects, they may protect them by hiding your listing.

My defects dropped from 1.73% to 1.32% (i think) & it was the 1st week of views & sales like i used to have say 2 months ago.

Not much can be done by the seller except keep up on the right keywords without spamming & hope that it is seen.

Re: How can you get a listening ear from eBay ?

Thank you lozygins  🙂

I have tried everything else .... eg free postage, and my prices are low.   I will try BIN on some of my brand new items.   I must admit, it seems to be a quiet time with most sellers ?   I have an eBay 'friend' who has lowered her prices considerably, and nothing improved ... she also does free postage.

I wouldn't survive without my 'regulars' who stick with me   ..... I send an invoice every 3 weeks minus postage, they pay that, then when they're ready, I send off a satchel.   Saves them heaps on postage  and keeps all of us happy   🙂

Thanks again,
