How do I change shipping to worldwide after a sale?

I received the below request from a buyer ..

"can you please change the shipping to be worldwide, Im unable to pay, it keep asking me to enter australia address. I just need the code only"

I sold (from Australia) 3 Itunes Gift Cards worth a total of $100 for $90 and the above bidder located in the states was successful.

I am relatively new at selling so any tips or warnings are appreciated in this regard.

Thanks

The first thing I am thinking is, aren't iTunes cards specific to the country in which they were bought?

will they even work in the U.S.?

check that first.

then any other concerns will be beside the point.

the second concern I have, is that on eBay Australia, I believe you need to provide the gift card, not just a code. As you had up for auction.

you should check that too.

How do I change shipping to worldwide after a sale?

Thanks Amber Eyed Girl ๐Ÿ™‚

I am happy to send the cards to the person if required and she is keen to pay, but says that I need to change the postage to worldwide. Any tips on how to do that. I can then send the invoice for payment. Afraid to get this wrong and get negative feedback as still have 100%...

"You can list an item on eBay.com.au and have it appear on other eBay sites of your choice.

If you're considering selling internationally, here are a few things to consider:

  • Research your postage options in advance. Decide where you're willing to post to, and select a postage service that offers delivery confirmation and signature confirmation.
  •
  • In the International postage section of your listing, specify the postage cost and service. If you select calculated postage, the cost will automatically be calculated based on the buyer's location and the size and weight of the item.
  •
  • In the Description section of your listing, clearly indicate that it's the buyer's responsibility to pay for any customs or import duties.
You can copy and paste this customs disclaimer into your Description.
  •
  • If you don't want to post to certain locations, you can set up postage exclusions. Learn more about specifying where you post to."

those are the tips for setting up a listing. If they were able to bid, then maybe all you need to do now is specify a postage cost, and send them an invoice, by putting a postage cost directly into a revised invoice.

hopefully someone can give you some more helpful advice ๐Ÿ™‚

if not, customer support top right, contact eBay.

When I did an advanced search for the user id it shows it as "Not a Registered user" with a location of Malaysia.

Could something like this cause a glitch with the shipping?

If you have their full ID correct then:

They are in Malaysia and NARU'd and last sold something on 05-Mar-09

So that means it's a hijacked account and they are trying to scam you.

Don't have any further contact with them and if they have sent you anything with a clickable link, don't click on it.

If you did,run all you Anti Airus and Anti Malware and change your passwords after doing so,(be carefull of any

phishing Emails you may receive purporting to be from eBay or Paypal).

Oh shucks! I only just saw your response now. I did get an e-mail from the buyer saying that they had paid. I also separately went to my paypal account and see the money in there. I have requested a withdrawal but can take up to 3 days. Someone has told me that the buyer can still cancel their payment and then the money goes back out of papyal. Is that possible????

If the funds are cleared to your account, they won't be able to 'cancel' the payment, as such, but they could very welll dispute it. I strongly suggest you have a good read of PayPal's buyer / selller protection policies, and the things that compromise your eligibility for protection as a seller. Gift cards are a 'volatile' item in so far as PayPal are concerned, and while I am not trying to cause concern where none is warranted, forewarned is forearmed and I would hate to see a situation where the codes are provided (rendering the cards effectively worthless), but the transaction is ultimately successfully disputed for one reason or another (legitimately or not).

How do I change shipping to worldwide after a sale?

Well now...i put the id down as ,<removed> as that is what I copied and pasted from her e-mail. I have looked at her profile by clicking on the bidder id and it's in fact got the word 'shop' attached to the end. It is a current user, registered and with large sales/bids and 100% feedback as well. I'm a bit embarassed for being so concerned but have not sold much before, and never to someone overseas.

She has been really good, responding straight after the sale and paying so promptly. I am sure it's all fine and will give positive feedback soon if the case remains as is. Thanks to all for your messages and sorry for the incorrect user ID I thought it was.

All in all, a good learning experience and great to know you are all out there and so helpful. Cheers to all.

Which is just ONE of the reasons you are not allowed to name and shame on the boards.
