How do they get away with it?

So I bought this the other day:

It says the item is located in Australia, Darwin. The product took ages to arrive, and, from the packaging, it was clearly sent from some Asian country (was very dodgy upon its arrival also). How do eBay allow these frauds to continue to sell?

Edit: Just had a look at their profile, they are actually located in Thailand. Why does it says Darwin on the details of the product?

You can report it to eBay. Item location cannot be misleading. The more that get reported, the better for everyone. They shouldn't be able to get away with it. Hope your product works here at least.

Take a pic of the envelope and send that to ebay along with your report.

Under the new ebay money back guarantee one of the advantages is that if you need to send something back it has to be sent to wherever the item location specifies so there may be a change in these sellers having the wrong item location when they cannot get any items back.

I would leave them a neg and only one star for description.

This is why I always look to see where a seller I don't recognise is registered when I look at their feedback. If that says anywhere except Australia I hit the back button & look for one that is registered here.

Here I am completely stressing about potentially losing our eBay business due to inane defects, and sellers like this are allowed to keep trading despite a LOT of bad feedback stating they are flat out lying in their listings.

The Chinese can do whatever they like and violate as many policies as they like and nothing will happen. They are the untouchables. Even the scammers are allowed to continually rip buyers off.

I messaged them, then they offered a $1 refund. I rejected it then left them neg feedback. A few days later I clicked on the option "request a refund" and the reason I provided was "Says they are located in Australia (Darwin), when they are clearly sellers located in Asia. It says in their profiles that they are located in Thailand, and also provided asian-like packaging. They are liars, frauds and scammers." Of course, the seller is given a chance to deal with the dispute before eBay gets involved. I was given a full refund... I'm guessing they got scared and didn't want ebay to get involved xD
