Some new sellers like to get all excited and watch the count-down

If an item has had a few messages, maybe four or five bids already and 15 or 20 watchers, it can be a bit of fun to watch the auction finish. I would like to be all hairy chested and say I dont care, but when you get that last minute rush of bids and an item sells for much more than expected, who doesnt get a little bit excited ?
Like the time I sold a set of owners books for an old 1950,s Victa lawnmower. They cost me $5.00 at a swap meet. I listed them expecting to get $40 or $50. They where well over $100 with ten minutes to go and in a frantic finish with multiple bidders ended up making $370.00. Now thats exciting. ( or maybe I just need to get out more LOL )

Now I'm with you that's exciting definately.

There's a saying in our family to stop you getting excited about anything.
And that saying is '69 watchers' that's all.
Had an auction, started at $15 - expected it to sell at $50 or more.
Hard to get item - usually sells well when it comes up every 6 months or so.
$15 - some profit, but................
It had 69 watchers. And one bid.
Down to the closing seconds..............................................
and it sold for $15.50!! 69 watchers

Aw, padi..............
I was gunna gloat on how my lists are staying here now - have been for weeks
Just went and checked

Just has to be your fault!

So that is why my lists have joined yours in 'Murrica stawks......it's all padi's fault.
Mine have been there for weeks now....came back for a few hours and went again. It looks horribly permanent now.
