How long does tracking stay up on AusPost

I received a msg this morning from a buyer saying "I just realised I never received my dress I purchased from you I was travelling at the time so where is it".I found the tracking number from back in June but when I looked it up it says no events showing.Is there a time limit on how long the tracking can be seen.The buyer wants an answer immediately and a refund today if I cannot locate it. Thanks

You will probably have to contact your local PO and/or Aus Post customer service directly as they might keep records for longer, but I'm sure other forum members will be able to guide you properly.

At the very least, you might have to tell her that you are having Aus Post look into it and that you need 24 hours to do so.

It is also possible that the item was delivered and :

1) Since she was travelling, it might have been stolen from her front porch (it it was a parcel) if she did not have a Mail Hold in place.

2) Aus Post might have attempted delivery, left a card for her to collect it from the PO, but then attempted to return it if it was not collected after a certain number of days.

Oh, I just realised it was from back in June - I don't even think she can open an Item Not Received case after all this time.

Aust post Customer service should be able to go back in history to find the tracking of the parcel as long as you have the tracking number,good luck

Australia Post can track most things for up to a year....ring them.

Don't even consider refunding immediately....I think she is trying it on.   Tell her you need time for AP to investigate her claim that the parcel was not delivered.

Even if she opens a paypal dispute you are still given time to produce the tracking for the item.  If you have already contacted AP you are well on the way to winning the dispute as you will need to send paypal the proof that you are given as they will not be able to track it themselves.

A mail hold, holds only the mail delivered by the bike postie. It doesn't stop the parcel contractor.

I have put mail on hold and always still get home to parcels left, or overdue attempted delivery cards. Luckily have not had any returned items yet.

june can mean a credit card chargeback could be possible, too, if paid by cc.

Thanks for all the advise i rang AusPost and a nice young man looked it up for me and found it was delivered 7th July I msg buyer and informed them of this have had no reply as yet.

Tracking is only kept for 60 days on the public tracking, you need to ring Austpost as they can track it for a longer time.
