How long would you give buyer to either contact you or pay?

Had a buyer win item ,have sent invoise.No payment or contact it is 11 days now and not 1 reply to my messages.So how long before I get annoyed?

I send the reminder on day three or four (depending on whether it was over a weekend). Then I open a case 2-3 days later unless they've given me a reason to allow a few days more. Close after five days.

You sent an invoice but there has been no reply and no payment in 11 days.

It seems obvious to me that this buyer is not going to pay. I would be 99% sure of that anyway.

Start a dispute. An official ebay dispute might get a response and a payment.

If it doesn't, then the buyer deserves a strike and at least that way, there is some hope they can be blocked from bidding if they continue their non paying ways.

I send an invoice immediately .....  another one on the 4th day,  then a gentle reminder on 5th day  ("Would you please let me know when you will be paying for your item .......   Many thanks".        I open a case on the 6th or 7th day.

I give people the benefit of the doubt,  and yes, sometimes people haven't checked their eBay or on holidays,  and don't even know they've won an item.

But then there are the others 😞      I don't mess around once it gets to about a week.

alot of you are far too lenient in my eyes.

As all of my listings are 'Buy It Now' i have far less patience than i did when i ran auctions.

If a buyer clicks BIN they are committing immediately.

If they dont pay straight away i will send an system generated invoice as soon as i get a chance

If they dont pay within 3 days i send a gentle private message asking if theres a problem and something i can do to speed up the process (this will be my only attempt at contact)

If they havent paid by day 4 (or no contact) i open a UID case as soon as i can

if they dont pay by day 8 (unless a pay date has been negotiated) i close the UID case as soon as i get the option...no questions asked

Most of my items get paid for. Very few go through the whole 8 days. I have had many buyers ask me for extensions to pay. I am fair and i will accomodate if the request is reasonable.. If they dont pay by the day they say they will i take action

As a buyer myself i ALWAYS pay instantly. Its not that much to expect that a buyer pays if not instantly but within a day or 2 at most.
