How to avoid late postage penalties for local pick ups?

I have to get on the online chat with ebay about this, but just for future reference, when you list an item as local pick up only, how do you avoid your "late shipping" percentage being affected if it takes a while for the buyer to arrange to collect the item?

I sold a wall unit, the buyer paid right away, then she arranged for 2 airtasker guys to come and collect it. She bought on 2 March and the airtaskers came on 5 March so that's when I marked it as "shipped", so technically it was only 2 business days but 4 days, and my shipping percentage has decreased. The buyer was very good in terms of communication and was happy with the item.

What do people do if a buyer can't pick up an item for like 2 weeks??

If listed as pick up only no postage, there shouldn't be a late shipment defect no matter when the buyer picks up.

Why not just mark as 2nd march pick up date.

Ahh, thank you! I thought it was included in all standard items that are posted.

I didn't want to say it was shipped until it actually was picked up.
