How to get someone to leave feedback, so I then get paid.

Hello everyone. 

How is the best way to get someone to leave me feedback. I am an honest ebayer and have been ebaying for over 19 years. My last item that I listed, I have been informed by ebay, that they will not release the hold of my payment until, the buyer has received my item and also left positive feedback. I have asked the buyer on numerous occassions from the day that I posted it, including even again today, to get him to leave feedback, and he wont. I have asked ebay, to intervene and request him to leave feedback, and they wont. So, not only now, I am out of pocket for the item, but also for the postage, insurance, and packaging. This is immensely unfair. I have spent over 2 hours with ebay trying to resolve with no help. I will never sell using ebay again. There no longer is seller protection.

Plus, why on my previous listing of selling only a few months ago, 4 were paid out within 24 hours of receipt of the goods. And 2 were paid immediately even before I got to send them.  And then there is this, that I read, and what the person above also posted. 

When funds become available for payout

Here are the time frames when your funds will become available for payout:

• 7 days after the estimated delivery date, or
• 1 day after confirmed delivery
• If no tracking is used, we'll do a check for positive Feedback after 3 days (to allow sufficient time for the item to be delivered). If positive Feedback has been received, you should get the funds within 24 hours. Note: This check is only carried out if no tracking is uploaded. Best practice is to upload tracking so you can receive the funds 1 day after confirmed delivery

So what you are saying is something even different again. Why should I believe you.   Hahahahhaha.

Did you upload it into the system? 
If you didn’t, then one way to CONFIRM DELIVERY is by receiving feedback. Derrrrr!!!!! 
But feedback HAS NO BEARING what-so-ever on you getting paid! 

The eBay staff you were chatting to, are in a call centre who really couldn’t care less whether you get paid or not. THEY get pd no matter what they tell you! 

Personally, now, I couldn’t care less if you get paid or not either! Just saying!

As I say you do not listen (as in read). Many a time I have mentioned that I always use tracking when sending, I always add insurance, I always add signature on arrival. And I always upload the tracking, and also as previously stated it is showing on ebay as being delivered. But ebay staff have clearly stated that they are NOT releasing the funds until positive feeddback is left. So yes they may only be call centre staff, but they are employees and representatives of ebay UNLIKE you rude self.

What does your Seller Hub Payment tab tell you? As I said before - that will give you the date of payment to your account.

There can be no disputing that information.

Customer Service are well known for giving misleading information on a regular basis, so I would take their information with a pinch of salt.

All that counts is what the Payment Tab indicates.

Ergh….. this drama goes on and on……

OP (post 1) fyi!        ….have asked buyer on numerous occasions from day I posted it, including even today.

Post 5:     I have spoken to numerous people at eBay on the phone.

Post 11:    They look like they are stealing my money.

Post 12:    EBay are ripping me off.

Post 15:     ….but the people on the phone, of which I have spoken to 2 people…..

Post 17:       THIS IS THE FIRST MENTION THAT YOU ACTUALLY UPLOADED TRACKING INTO THE SYSTEM.   *sigh*.

Now, as you can see, you can’t tell a straight story, it chops and changes. 
Can you please upload a picture of the transcript that SHOWS US that eBay ‘people’ the cleaner, the tea lady, whoever….. stated that they require positive feedback to be received before you get paid? 

I also had another thought…. What is your buyers feedback like? He may be a serial INAD buyer !  AND maybe THATS why they are wanting feedback (but honestly, it’s not a actual requirement for payment).  Hence, once 30 days are past, I BET YOU’LL GET PD!  (Providing, you your buyer doesn’t start a claim! )

The people would love to see the transcript that states you need positive feedback in order to get paid.

It does not give an "Actual date"  only an "estimated date" .  And apparently that can simply change to a later date if I have not received the Positive feedback by then. If I receive positive feedback earlier then it will be paid earlier. This simply does not make sense, as the first 4 items that I sold last year, the funds were released in under 24 hours of the delivery of my items. The the next 2, the funds were made IMMEDIATELY as soon as the people paid. But this one they are holding onto indefinitely. There simply is no consistency. Even ebay could not explain as to why I was paid in the way that I was before. So, really I dont understand the system, and really I tend to believe that NO-ONE at all understands their system. It was way better when Paypal handled the payment system, ebay have stuffed the whole thing up.

So, what is the estimated date then?

As I say, on my other account I don't have a single feedback from recent orders, but all funds were released.

In fact, I didn't even have tracking and the funds were released on the "estimated" date anyway.

Yeah…. I’m waiting to see these transcripts that state she won’t get pd until positive feedback has been received from the seller.

@janeababe - I think it's entirely possible that CS would tell her that nonsense. They make up stuff as they go along anyway.

It's more a question of why she won't believe the numerous members of this forum who have a thousand times more actual selling experience than any minimum wage CS rep in the Phillipines (or wherever).

If the OP's response to the CS reps was anything like the responses some of us got Jane, then they might well be waiting for the maximum period before payout....................

Edit.  And if the buyer leaves a neg for feedback harassment then....................
