Mr 101 feedback who loves leaving negatives for everyone hasn't paid, so I just opened up an unpaid case against him. I should have turned on the unpaid assistant I think, because whoever mentioned it the other day was absolutely correct in that he can still leave me feedback until the case is closed, due to me doing it manually. I sent a reminder invoice yesterday and mentioned that if he'd changed his mind, that was fine, just to let me know so I can cancel the transaction. I also said that if he was still watching other items, to take as long as he needs to complete his purchases, but to let me know. Zilch correspondence since the auction finished on the 24th. I was reluctant to open a case due to his reputation, but enoughs enough now. He's had enough time.
I just hope that if he does neg me, eBay will remove it, the low DSR that will invariably go with it and the defect (I can dream!!!). If I responded to a neg, would that give me less chance of eBay removing it?
That brings me to a question. If I do decide to use the unpaid assistant, if someone sends me a message to say they are still buying, is there some way to set it up so it doesn't automatically open a case on them?
Still so much to learn......I am SOOOOO grateful for this group! I'm so glad I found this group because I have learned so much in the last few weeks.

I think it's best to wait before leaving any feedback or follow up feedback until after you've spoken to ebay about removal. I don't think he can leave any feedback at all if you've opened an unpaid item case. I do my unpaid item cases manually, because sometimes it's not so straight forward (they may have messaged me and I didn't see the message etc). I always send a short message before I open a case 'Hi xxx, just a friendly reminder about this item...etc' and if still no contact, I open a case. - I think now most sellers won't cancel a transaction, due to the new changes with defect rates... others might know more about this. I can't keep track of these changes! (I love my chooks too!)

You thrill seeker - you LOL "risking a red dot"
he will be able to leave you feedback if he chooses before the case is closed, but once it closes you are in the clear.
I don't use it, but no harm in setting up the automatic doobie if your only concern is when tio close it as it doesn't close automatically for a fair while (forget how long)
To me it sounds like any feedback he may leave will be removed as you can show he didn't pay etc, so really, what could his feedback say?
Don't respond or write anything until you talk to eBay

Yes - however, you can't use the unpaid item assistant unless you only offer electronic payment methods (so it won't work on any listings with bank deposit offered as a payment method).
You can turn off the UPIA for a specific transaction, or on a specific case that's already opened so it has to be closed manually (it can't be switched back on for that transaction / case). If you have some regular customers that combine purchases over a few days etc, you can switch it off permanently just for them (similar to the blocked buyer exemption list).

The problem with unpaid itemn assistant is it can open a case when you didn't want it too. This puts buyers offside and can then affect fb
