Hi all, recently sold a set of bunk beds and arranged with the buyer that I would leave it out for them (on Wed afternoon) because I would not be home at the time they wanted to pick up due to other commitments with my children. Now she is saying that she didn't pick it up and wants a refund and if no refund will come here on Sat to pick up?? I don't know what to do? Please help!

Sir sales...I have now learnt my lesson and will never ever be such a trusting person again....pretty sad really that I will always treat people with such suspicion from now on. As for me having Wednesday comittments with my children....it was a one off thing that I had to attend with them and was not gone for very long .....and honestly, who the hell knows if they did actually pick it up....or....it was someone else!!!
good to hear (no need to call me Sir . . . . . LOL)
Hope it all works out to your satisfaction.

If the police do decide to investigate, you might need to provide an accurate description of the bunks in question, so that they are not confused with the other 2 sets purchased by your buyer just prior to the end of your auction... ๐

4 sets of bunks?
they're either setting up a youth hostel or they need a TV!

You have been conned....have a look at the buyer's buying history. She has bought 4 sets of bunk beds including yours on the 22nd October. How many kids does she have?
Also, I may have missed something, but who realised that the bunks had been "stolen"? If the buyer messaged you that she could not pick them up, how did she know they had gone from the place where they were supposed to be?
BTW, the police cannot just rock up to her property to look for anything.
A few years ago we were broken into and some neighbours saw some boys walking away with a suitcase and a portable TV. They followed them for a couple of blocks, saw the block of flats that they went into and rang the police and told them.
We rang the police late that night to report the breakin.
The next day the neighbours told us what had happened and when I rang the police again I was told that they were well aware of who the boys were as they went to the flat of the girlfriend of one of them, BUT they had no authority to knock on the door as there was no proof that they had done anything.
