I live in Australia, do I have to take pay pal ? or can I ask for bank deposit or Money order only?
I noticed another seller doing it, so in theory I should be able to do it as well?
I just wanted to confirm.
Thanks

The seller is in breach of eBays current policy in all of their listings.
There is a link to report the listing on the far right of the listing opposite the description and postage & payment tabs - titled report this item.
I have reported all of the sellers listings for listings practices - banned or inappropriate payment methods - misleading or discouraging payments
The sellers tone in the litings is also quite agro and off putting for buyers as well IMO
If you are concerned you should do the same and report their listings.
Re the poor advice you received from customer service - unfortunately it seems to be usual defective standard of many of the eBay call centre reps

Short answer, yes, you have to offer PayPal or another secure payment option. You won't be able to list without it. You can also offer the other options.

You must offer an eBay approved "safe" payment method, either Paypal, Paymate or Merchant Credit Card Facilities. You can also offer bank deposit or money order as long as you have one of the "safe" methods on offer.

There is a seller who is getting away with it!
I know I can not say the name of the seller, or the item number
This seller will not take pay pay from Australian buyers , unless they pay the extra 4%
I have contacted ebay and they told me that laws in Australia have changed. If you look at the other listings from this seller, you will see that they refuse to accept paypal, ebay has made them remove the part about charging the extra 4%

If"" the successful bidder is within Australia they may ONLY pay with Australia Post money order or direct payment to my bank account (I prefer the latter).''"
This was in the listing. Rightly or wrongly the seller indicated clearly how they wanted to get paid.
Did you message them to clarify this?

I looked at that listing and Paypal is not only listed as a payment option, it is the preferred payment option, and there is no mention of 4% fees either.
I checked the first listing on that seller's current list and it also shows Paypal as preferred.

So far, I count this as 3 threads on the same seller/buyer situation

I think the point is , if it wrongly, then should it be allowed?
Rules are rules, why should one person be exempt?
on โ18-07-2015 02:44 PM
Let me guess, only one is allowed?

one thread is preferred.
How do we know who advised you of what,
and on what thread.
On top of that, you've posted under 2 IDs
