Hi everyone, this is my first post here but have read several others.I had sold a pack of items on an ebay listing i had listed several at once with turbo lister and not realised i had listed an old one i no longer had.Yes this is my mistake and unfortunetly i didn't notice until a couple of days after bidding ended it was around the 22nd december and wanted it packed up ready to send incase the buyer paid for it as i was ready to close up for xmas.Well of course i couldnt find the items as i didnt have them.
I sent the buyer a cancellation request and told her i had run short of stock as it was an old listing.Buyer refused cancellation request and paid by paypal and demanded i send her items. I issued a refund and told her i didnt and couldnt get anymore stock in.She accused me of cancelling due to other reasons.
Anyway i just recieved a notification from ebay saying she has requested my personal information.
Umm seriously not sure what to do about this , i contacted ebay and am waiting for a response. It just seems really wierd to me that she would demand items i have told her i do not have , pay for it then request my information.
I made an honest mistake and feel like im being put through the wringer for it.

Unfortunately there are sellers who DO refuse to send for spurious reasons.
So the buyer probably thinks you are one. There is not much you can do about it. If the buyer rings you (which presumably is why they requested your details) explain and apologise again.
You will probably cop a negative, though, whatever happens.
It is always a good idea to keep track of your stock vs listings, though.
I am hunting one I know I have at the moment. But that is because I sent a waiting to be listed copy instead of the listed one and didn't make note of where the original one was. But I have yet another, so I KNOW I still have one and where it is. I know I have 2, but I can find 1 instantly.

Any buyer or seller who is in a transaction with another member can request their information, if they do ring you it may be better as you may be able to convince them it is a genuine mistake but a lot of not very good sellers list things they do not have on a regular basis and buyers quite understandably get a bit jaded when that old excuse is trotted out again.
I think your biggest mistake was sending the cancellation request, I would just have worn the fees, when buyers come here complaining about non existent items many of us tell them that if the seller has the nerve to try and get their fees back by sending a cancellation they should refuse it and neg the seller!

Take the advice on board for future issues?
We can't offer much advice after the event either.
Assuming this ID isn't your selling ID, then you should have worked out the ramifications of not keeping control of your stock. If this ID is your selling ID, then you are not really experienced and would surely be happy to take on board advice from experienced sellers.
Which PJ and I are.
