New or pre-owned?
I think there's a market for ones with cables that have old pairs of shoes slung over them, but you want to make sure they're not the type to attract magpies in spring.

There's a mixture of new and pre-ownded. The pre-owned ones are made from hardwood and in excellent used condition, the new ones are made from copper logs. These ones have magpie repellant on them, so no problems there.
As for the old shoes, there's a reason why people do that and it's not just to be a smart alec (or so I'm told)...

Its not a 18-foot telegraph pole but if you look at the listing the similarities are remarkable.
You might be able to draw some ideas from that.

The issue of splinters comes to mind - you might need to put some sort of Occupational Health & Safety warning in the listing.....

Did have a laugh but it sent my mind off on a tangent. It reminded me of an ad I saw many years ago in ebay.
Fair dinks, I am not kidding, it was a tree, or it had been. It was so tall it was photographed inside a warehouse. Whoever had this tree had trimmed the branches of any leaves or twigs and planed them smooth and flat.
It was advertised as shelving, or perhaps a novel book shelf.
It wasn't cheap either-several hundred dollars.
There you go, tippy, Stick a few horizontal planks into your poles, ask a couple of thousand $$$$ and you'll have novel shelving that any of us would covet.
You can't say I am not full of helpful suggestions.

Maybe a recycled timber trader or shop, many people are on the hunt for recycled/old wood for construction of houses. If they are good wood or have a nice finish or the possiblilty of looking good, they will use them for the framework/structure of the house, or rafters on show inside. Some of the home shows on telly often highlight the eco homes people with a lot of money are building using recycled timbers.
