If ever there was proof that search ranking counts....

We have a product we call a "headband kit". Normally it sells at a rate of about 1 per week or so.

There are a few different sizes and content combinations (and therefore prices) each of which has its own separate listing across our two ebay stores. It's very popular for baby showers and home crafters who want to make up their own baby headbands.

Yesterday (Friday) morning, by some strange chance, two of these kits sold in quick succession to two separate buyers.

Then for the rest of the day there was "kaching" throughout the day on these same items.

7 of them sold thru the day including one on E**Y by another odd coincidence.

We did a search test and found that our kits (all of them on both stores) were occupying the first five positions of search ranking. We had never seen this happen before as they normally languish down a page or two below the Chinese sellers.

This morning they are still up there so we are hoping the sales trend continues over the weekend, although weekends are normally very slow for us anyway.

So it seems that search ranking is everything, in our particular category anyway.

I think you mentioned before also that items ending soonest also get a lot of exposure.  Every single time, after 10 days of having listings, I always sell the most in the final 24 hours.  Either people waste time watching and waiting, or my items get more exposure during this last day.

How often have you complained on the boards about members who hide behind 0 feedback posting IDs and yet when a member uses his selling ID to highlight a function of ebay you also find fault with that too.

Should we perhaps be looking to report your ID as advertising...not only is is a selling ID but it also has a shop.

And who are the amigos that you speak of?

I'm guilty of that. I have a watchlist that has the ending soonest at the top. Useful for auctions as I enjoy the occasional snipe. So I often don't think about BINs I'm watching until they rise to the top, especially if the seller has plenty. But it's nothing to do with search.

The OP provides quite detailed information regarding their product.  Much not necessary to make the same point.  Is not about private posting ids that deserves a thread of its own, why don't you start one, you rarely seem to start threads, just seem to jump on everyones elses bandwagon - hey lady get your own bandwagon

I have never started a thread except in a Private group and I see no reason to do so now.

I don't have a problem with posting IDs or posting on a selling ID as you do so no need to start a thread or comment in any way unless someone is using double standards as you have been doing.
