Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I've never had much of an issue with Aus Post tracking numbers before but in the past 2 weeks I've had 4 parcels (out of a total of 6 sent during that period) show up as 'delivered' when they have not been. I've had a couple of frantic emails from concerned buyers who have called AP and each time been told that the parcel was safe dropped yet they were delivered several days later.
Ordinarily I'd assume it was a lazy subbie who scanned them as delivered to appease the powers that be and delivered them when it was convenient but 4 out of 6 (to entirely different locations) seems to discount that possibility. Has anyone else come across this issue? I hope they aren't going to make a habit of it, DSR's might cop a hammering if they do :S

The only way I would know would be if buyers hassled me about it. As that hasn't happened, I assume they get their items.
So, imo, a localised problem.

I would have assumed a localised issue except that each of the 4 parcels were sent to not only different cities, but entirely different states. Very odd indeed.

as per photo, you can see that AP stuff are jumping procedure instead of stating "AVAITING COLLECTION" they place it as "DELIVERED" when it is not. This causes confusion and panic for the buyer as it states delivered when they have not collected the item.

I had one item as a buyer go missing last fortnight. It was marked as delivered, (assuming the correct tracking number was given) to a different town. I admit to being a little dubious as it took the seller 24 days to post the item at all.
I also have had one item go missing as a seller. The tracking showed it had been delivered to a postode commensurate to that of the customer and Aus Post claimed they did deliver it to the customers address, they could not substantiate this. They had no record of the parcel after accepting it at their depot.

The tracking info of my package from this morning, it says delivered but it is not.(it should be awaiting collection in the post office) AP needs to warn all their stuff about this scanning-lazinees.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like it's going to be an ongoing issue Might have to do up a form letter warning not to take any notice of AP's tracking info.

I have to agree. I send everything express ( mainly due to the value & the fact that when women buy shoes they want them NOW lol) and the number of times AP doesnt scan is so annoying. I have been on the phone to AP, they were aplogetic and the items were delivered but who compensates me for the ANGST!! lol

I've had this happen once with an item sent to me (I have a PO box), where it seemed to have been scanned one time too many - I had subscribed to tracking events via email, and I woke up to one message saying "awaiting collection" and another saying "delivered". It's a bit worrying if it's a more wide-spread and persistent problem.

I have had 2 registered parcels in the last 2 months been accepted (scanned) at the local PO then nothing else?? The customet has never received them and Aust Post can't find them. I have rung Aust Post and complained on both occasions and with proof of posting I have been compensated. Something is definately happening with their scanning procedures and it stinks.
