Warning to eBay sellers.
don’t trust Ebay is postage costs calculator.
I entered my parcel weight and dimensions correctly. My buyer was charged $18.95 for postage but when I printed the shipping label through eBay it charged me $37.25. When I canceled that and went to Australia post the correct cost was also $37.25.
I tried talking to Ebay about it through the chat system. I spent an hour and 20 minutes trying to sort it out. Ebay staff spoke in circles and kept telling me I entered the dimensions incorrectly. I have checked and checked again that I entered the dimensions and weight correctly.
eBay staff also asked me if I checked the postage costs of the buyers exact location BEFORE I listed the item! If I knew the future I wouldn’t need eBay.

$18.95 would be for an extra large satchel or box. Up to 5kg Australia wide, but only if using AP box or satchel.
If using own packaging, flat rates won't apply and you'll be charged by weight.

If you use your own packaging, Australia Post Flat rates only apply to items less than 1kg. Over 1 kg is on a sliding scale per distance per kg
