International Registered Mail inbound into the United States (Boycott)

Boycott Registered Mail, especially which is mailed to the United States. Just don't send any Registered Mail to the United States. Too much of US inbound international Registered mail is stolen in the United States and too many are returned labeled with yellow "NIXIE" labels which is a scam (*long story*) run by U.S.P.S. (United States Postal Service).

Re: International Registered Mail inbound into the United States (Boycott)

Australian Registered Mail as well as inbound foreign Registered Mail arriving to Australia does not have any tracking as well. For the following countries (Australia, Canada, USA) to say the least, registered mail inbound into those countries has become more of a scam or a sham. It's like a semi-registered or pseudo-registered mail where it is registered in the country of original but when it arrives to USA, Australia and perhaps also in Canada it does not contain any service of a registered mail, because it is released into a First Class mail stream. That's cheating since most consumers when they pay for REGISTERED (secured) they expect it to be Registered (handled in sealed secured bags held in a safe at every point to destination) all the way to the recipient and collect their signature with full tracking as it used to be before 2009/2015. Why should we be okay with that?

Re: International Registered Mail inbound into the United States (Boycott)

I did not say to boycott the country (USA) or even the Postal service (USPS). Yet boycotting (not using) Registered mail (which claims to have tracking and being handled in secure bags) to send to the USA. After paying about โ‚ฌ7 for Registered mail in Portugal, all you get is an online dispatch record and then it goes into a Black Hole (USPS). No tracking in the US, no delivery record displayed online, no date of delivery, no signature is collected, nothing. Absolute zero! Only once you submit a search application (complaint), after some weeks or months they send you a simple email stating whether they were unable to find it or they say it was delivered, without actual proof of the delivery provided. That is a joke, and a scam, not a Registered mail service.

Now I discontinued providing Registered mail to the USA, but still allow it for amounts of up to $50 as $40 of it is covered under the Indemnity. Even that, used to be a compensation of about โ‚ฌ43 and now only 30 DTS or โ‚ฌ36. With the decades passed and inflation that amount has become nuts.

So now I tried to send by fully insured Parcel mail (to USA). It cost me โ‚ฌ45 for a "parcel" of 200 grams, a little box, with customs declaration, full insurance for $200. Got an international dispatch online record (left the mail distribution center in Lisbon, not exactly an international dispatch statement) 5 days later, so far USPS website tracking shows "Label created, not in system yet". I will update once I get it delivered, whether it provides full tracking or not, after paying a whopping โ‚ฌ45.

Even FedEx these days is a joke and sometimes it does not provide a timely tracking or takes days or weeks to dispatch a shipment.

UPS is the only service that is fast and provides full tracking. Yet it costs me almost $80 to send a light UPS envelope with a paperwork, let alone a parcel with goods. Most customers who place $20 to $100 orders will not pay โ‚ฌ80 for UPS. They want to pay $5 maybe $8 or even $10 but that's it.

Another issue are customers from Central Europe (Czech, Slovakia, Hungary etc.). They understand the need for insurance (even that mail delivery is safe in their countries, unlike in the US) and they are paying for the insurance when they have a choice to not pay for insurance.

What country do you send Registered mail to the USA from? Perhaps your country's postal service has made a deal with the USPS and perhaps they are showing full tracking online  for your country for REGISTERED mail  even within the US territory all the way top the recipient/buyer.

Re: International Registered Mail inbound into the United States (Boycott)

Our country is Australia, which is fairly obvious given you are posting on the Australian boards.

I am not silly enough to send internationally, but I doubt I have the same services available here as you do in Europe.

As you were asked last week when you posted your first rant - why are you posting here instead of where your complaints (and examples) would be relevant?
