Hey guys 😃
Ok so I opened up a small ebay store and it has been running fine for the last 2 months.. however I'm finding that the montly fee ontop of selling fee's to be working out rather pricey.. e.g. last month's bill was $80
As I am just starting out I only carry a few items.. anywhere between 4-20 at a time. and sales aren't exactly every day either...... and I'm just wondering with a small inventory .. should I just go back to single sale listings or keep the store open?? I only make a few dollars profit per item.. and it seems that ebay eats away at most of my savings....
suggestions? =(

Hello,
Read through the previous topics to find a variety of opinions and information. Here is one that seems particularly helpful:

is it worth it? only you can answer that, surely before you made the commercial decision to ''rent'' ebay store space for $50 a month you did the sums to see how the 30 day , 0.20c listings would work out against being a new seller using the ebay 30 free listings (each for 10 days) per month would stack up?
generally speaking, most sellers will tell you that you need at least 100 listings in a store to break even
business and store and powerseller accounts pay for all listings
new sellers get 30 ten-day listings per month free...

Store can work with 4 listings if they are multiple quantity listings and you can sell many quantity for each listings. If you can sell one each of each items daily store will definitely benefit you.
However at this stage I think using 30 free listings will be much cheaper option for fees.
Keys to make store works multiple quantity listings and getting sales history up on each items.

WOW your store looks great, better than mine lol, but you need heaps more stock in it, no good having just a few things, get a few hundred up, my fees are tiny really, im quite happy with the fees.
LIST MORE!! 🙂

A store was viable to me selling low cost items back when it was $14.95 a month ; 10c a listing etc... i even had fun with it.
Hadnt opened a store since.

I reckon 300 is the lower limit for a store if you sell used books. Very few multiple opportunities, so you need to amortise the store fees over as many listings as possible.

I dont have a store, but would be interested in how much it does cost a month to run?

$49.95. Listings can be for 30 days BIN. 20c per month for general listings, 5c per month for media.
The site map provides the nitty gritty. Well worth a read.

Thanks 😃 was a lot of work haha
I know you're right about having a lot more stock.. and I did have more to start with and now most of it has sold out.. so Im using the made I made to buy more stock and a lot more of it... I'm slowly building up.. but it just sucks before my profit margin is sooooooooooooo small.....
because I only have a little bit of money to work with.. my business will take a while to grow..but hopefully with every penny I make I simply put back into the business until it turns a profit............... How did you get to have such a large inventory??
