Is there a way to....

I was wondering if anyone here knows if there is a way to automatically give certain customers a discount off your items instead of having to apply seller discounts before they pay. I have a couple of customers that I would like to offer discounts to for being repeat customers and referring me to others etc but I am not quite sure on if there is a way about it.

Cheers guys

No you can't alter the prices after a sale, except to remove postage costs.  The only way is to send them freebies, or a choice from the store.

Perhaps offer free or half price postage on their next purchase, doubles as a thank you gift and an incentive to buy again.

Ah, ok you already offer free post,  in that case a free token gift would suffice,

Can you send them a gift certificate number that might be equal to say 10% off and they enter the gift certificate number into the payment area of the invoice when they pay?

Discount at time of sale would be better than sending credit note or voucher. As you want them to combine to make it worth it and also get them to spend more when they are in buying mode.

It would certainly make freepost more appealing to sellers

Re: Is there a way to....

Is there some sort of gift card (or some sort of discount) that sellers can give to buyers and the buyer then uses it on their next purchase?

I was sent something but it was probably 2  or 3 years ago now and I entered the number into the invoice before paying with Paypal and it gave me the discount before I actually paid for the item. I wish I could remember fully what it was that I did to get my discount.

Anyway ebay have probably stopped sellers from doing that.

Re: Is there a way to....

I just made a sale that I wanted to give a discount too... I called Ebay and they walked me through the process of being able to do it through PP...

Ebay can't do it after a sale.. they of course want the full amount of their fees.

The buyer was surprised and happy
