We could just as easily say that a bidder might be trying to take advantage, I've seen that too. Not saying it happened here necessarily though.
Not sure how you can say a bidder is potentialy trying to take advantage. They have made a valid bid on an item, what advantage is there on their part.

I'm not saying that is the case here.
But in the past, I have seen people come on here to complain that they bid on an item then the seller cancelled the sale & refunded and that wasn't right etc
Which normally I can have a lot of sympathy for.
But in a couple of cases, the poor seller had obviously started at a low price, thinking the buy it now was a reserve or whatever, and I got the impression that the buyer was just peeved they weren't getting eg a $200 item for $10 (I can't recall exact figures but that's the sort of gist).
In those cases, I think the buyer was just annoyed they were not getting the bargain they wanted, there's an element of greed there, but if a seller has made a genuine mistake, I don't believe they should have to virtually give the item away.
Same as if a seller made a major mistake on a postage amount. I used to sell and if we made a small error, we just absorbed the loss but had we made a major mistake as I have read some other sellers have done eg $50 difference, I think I would have been inclined to cancel and refund too.

I guess I look at it if they didnt bother to do their research it is not the buyers problem, or the buyer trying to take advantage of them. It all comes down to understanding the platform you are using, but don't blame the buyer for taking advantage,.

Definitely not taking advantage to bid because as you say, it was advertised at that price, they didn't set it.
But when the seller has made a mistake and then cancels the sale & refunds, we sometimes see people coming on here furious they weren't sent it at the bargain price. I do understand people being peeved when a sale is cancelled but when the sales price is definitely in the unrealistic range, then I think the buyers need to accept that the seller doesn't have to give away their item.
Not saying that that scenario applies in this particular case though.

I guess we have different ethics. I prefer mine
