Is this some scam? Why are people driving up the price?

I’m selling a PS4, there’s 5 days left on the auction and it’s already at over double market value. There’s plenty of other PS4 in similar locations and conditions, so why has this one blown up? The top three bidders have 0 reviews as far as I can see. What’s going on? I haven’t sold at auction before so I’m really worried. Are people driving up the price so their items sell better and they won’t pay me? What do I do, I doubt anyone will actually be paying me over double market value.

Reviews are for products, not people so I take it you mean all three bidders have 0 feedback

Are all the 'buyers' registered in Australia or overseas, and when did they join?

As you are an inexperienced seller, it is very possible the bidders are messing with you and hope to trick you into sending the PS4 by saying they 'have paid you' or 'will pay you by bank deposit' or 'send to an overseas address' etc

There are a lot of scammer buyers who target new sellers

If I were you, I would be blocking the bidders who are causing you genuine concern so they can no longer bid, ignore any messages they may send

But hold off on that until other people give their opinion, they may have better advice

The simplest answer to your question is - if they don't pay, you issue a non-payment dispute and they get a strike, and then you get your fees back and then you re-list it.    Strictly in that order.   Nothing bad really happens to you.

Probably if had been me I would not have listed it as available for international purchase, but that is an individual thing.

They are all in the US, one in 2019 the other two in 2020. I have sold before but not at auction, but I think you must be right. Can I just block the sellers and it will go back to the lowest seller I didn’t block? Or should I start it all over without international shipping? Should you not have international shipping for buy it now as well? Thanks for your help I was completely lost.

You can't start all over without getting a defect.

I think I would just play it out.     Just don't get caught in the buyers offers to pay by some other means than paypal.

Come back here for advice when it's finished.

That's what I would do.

It seems sorted and the zero bidders have been eliminated?

For future reference you can cancel bids and cite
