I am new to selling on ebay.
I posted a 40cm long plush toy today. I am not quite worried as I am not very experienced in packing stuff. A staff member in the post office suggested me to just put the a 40cm long plush toy in an Australia Post tough envelope, and said padded bag is not necessary. (I was going to buy a padded envelope). As the plush toy is sort of round, so the sealed tough envelope is no flat. I was in a rush to go to work, so didnโt think much about it . But now I am so worried that the parcel will be squshed and broken during the delivery process. I had my parcel registered though, paid exta $3.2.
Does anyone think the Austrlia Post tough envelope is suitable to post a plush toy which is not wrapped up with anything? I am worried that buyer will receive the toy in a broken package.

I would not be too worried. While it would have been better to wrap the toy in something before putting it in the tuff bag, they are quite strong and take a lot of mishandling before tearing.

I agree, tough bags are good, but next time wrap the article in plastic.
My tip, I have a roll of plastic bags (sold at the supermarket as garbage bin liners) tha I use for bulky items.
The bags are clean (obviously) and I plae the item in, then twist the top part around several times to make a 'neck' which is bound with sticky tape.
Then cut through the middle of the sticky tape which cuts off the plastic handles. This disguises the fact that is was a garbage bin liner.
Never had a complaint.

It is not going to break, so doesnt need padding. Crushing with a weight on top would be same whether padded bag or not. Sealing in a bag inside envelope is advisable in case envelope gets wet.
If it went as a parcel rather than letter rate it wont go through sorting machines, so bulkiness is not an issue.

Put them in seal-able plastic bags ie snap lock bag and use the pre paid satchels or click and send satchels.

...oh an registered post is for insurance against loss.... it is not a ''fragile/damage proof'' insurance,
australia post does not offer any 'fragile' services at all.

It would be fine to put the toy in that, but as most have suggested also put it in a plastic bag, it looks better to your buyer to receive something that is "wrapped" rather than just tossed into a bag.
I never send anything without having some kind of wrapping around it.

Dave it is not a doll that might break....it is a plush soft toy. If it is the item I think it is it is a "Nemo" toy and frankly I would be horrified if a seller asked me to pay enough postage to have it in a box with padding. A tuff bag or plastic satchel is quite sufficient.
