Item sold for less than listed price - how?

Hi Community.
Can anyone help me understand this:

I listed an item for $110.

I received notification that the item has sold, but the buyer has only been charged $27.50.

How is this possible?

Thanks for your help.

Kath

Re: Item sold for less than listed price - how?

Absolutely do as dave suggests!

I have read here in the past that sometimes ebay itself has accepted offers on the seller's behalf. In the past there were a few very unhappy sellers who had it happen to them. I don't know if that still applies but even if you did have best offer available, I doubt you'd be wanting to accept $27.50 on a $110 item.

Just cancel with problem with seller's address and then go check any other ads you might have running. I think where you have best offer available, you can insert your own lowest acceptable price.

Do you have extant promotions? Best offer?

Have you checked that the sale price to you is indeed $27.50?

If none of the above apply cancel using 'problem with buyer's address'.

The buyer will be refunded and your fees will be reversed.

Thanks for that. Yes, the funds coming to me are only 27.50. Very curious. I will cancel as you suggest.

Thanks again.

Re: Item sold for less than listed price - how?

Thanks for responding! I checked with the buyer. They said they received an offer from me and simply accepted it. (They sent a screenshot to show me). I didn’t initiate any offers so no idea how that happened. I have cancelled and refunded and will check my other listings as you suggest. Many thanks.

Re: Item sold for less than listed price - how?

It's a ridiculously  low  offer and  may not be applicable but worth checking  to see if you have

"Automatic Offers" enabled.

This link will give you the information on how to  disable if required
