Not on this account but a buyer bought a $30 item off me on Friday. They had 51 feedback (And yes I am one of those folks who checks a buyers feedback) and there were a couple of red dots left for sellers and some positive feed backs but with comments like - seller helped work through a problem. These always ring alarm bells for me so I thought - what the hey ...I will send it rego post.
So put a rego post label on and then entered tracking details to ebay and sent the buyer a message to say thanks for the purchase and the item would be in the post first up Tuesday and tracking number was bla bla bla. That was yesterday.
Just got a message from them asking why was I using tracking ...they didnt pay for it so why would I send with tracking? I said I have registered post cost built into the price and I send all items over $20 with rego post. I get an email back saying please remove tracking and refund them for the tracking as they dont want it. I replied - Sorry the item is already in the red post box.
Just waiting for the reply hehehe ! Should be good.

The option for a buyer to redirect a package or override SOD is actually available through most AP parcel services where the label is generated online, as long as the buyer's phone number and / or email address was entered into the label field(s) and those details are registered with a My Post account. With ebay postage labels, you can't remove the phone number from the label as it doesn't even show as part of the address when you edit it, but prints on there regardless if it's on the buyer's account.
With eparcel, the seller can opt to disallow the recipient from being able to override SOD, even if the email / phone number has been entered into the label, I'm not sure about My Post (which is what I use), I looked for a setting like that but couldn't find it, so I just don't enter either of those as I mostly just don't want people to be able to redirect.

At my old address the post office also had a few self-serve machines where you have the option to enter the buyer's email address when buying postage label for a parcel. I used it maybe once or twice, I hated the machines and especially hated standing there entering email addresses for every parcel.

I know that many Ebay buyers don't want registered post used, as Australia Post usually does not deliver any items requiring a signature to the person's address any more these days. The buyer gets just a card in the mailbox, and is then expected to drive to a post office for collection, which for many people like myself in regional areas can be a very long way to go for mail. As such we prefer non registered delivery, or preferably another carrier other than the unreliable Australia Post to be used by the seller. If you are a seller, PLEASE STOP USING AUSTRALIA POST!
They are uselesss these days!
If you are a seller and wondering why you are selling less these days, part of the reason will be that you are using Australia Post, so buyers are avoiding you.

Thanks for dragging up this old thread.
If sellers re not using Australia Post they will have to use couriers.
If you read the boards you will find that buyers hate couriers even more than Australia Post. Be ready to duck for cover if buyers actually find this post and decide to give their opinions.

AP does deliver parcels requiring sigs to my place but because I am not often home during the day I use their service where they sign on behalf of me and then drop in a safe place at my home. Never had a problem and nearly everything I buy is online. If it were not safe to drop at my home I would be happy to pick up from the PO as it is much more convenient than having to travel an hour to get to the next town with a depot if they don't redeliver, which has happened a few times.
Please don't think that your experience is typical of everyone.
