This is a new experience for me.. I never even used to look at feedback in case it upset me, any feedback that is.
Now as soon as I see that number change, I am on to it...I check the feedback comment, then straight to dsr to make sure column is still all negative. Similiarly, a new ebay msg causes me some anxiety, might be an INAD..
I might get an ulcer lol

Totally in agreement, certainly know where you are coming from.
I used to look forward very much to checking my ebay home page... well lately, I click very tentatively and wait.......
All I know is I am scaling down and hesitate in buying new stock... I am not enjoying my ebay days anymore.

Indeed, and certainly a couple of not received paypal cases lost, with no contact whatsoever from seller including me.

Now I am also worrying if I do sell something..
did i put in the right size? the fabric? is the listing clear, no chance of being misleading..
then when I go to get the item, please don't let there be a mark I missed, or a defect, or what if the colour looks different now in the daylight, or the tags have come off... bloody hell.

If your buyer left you a negative then your feedback would go down. That is when I really get anxious.

And what if I can't find it??? (I think that's my biggest nightmare). I have so many boxes of 'stuff' that sometimes I can't always put my hand straight away on the item I've just sold. However, the only times this has happened on ebay (twice recently) it has been because I didn't know when items are relisted, they revert back to the original number available. I very very rarely have more than one of the same item to sell, and wouldn't you know, the two times it has happened, It's been on a relist.

why worry about the odd idiot?
most of the time all is good and yes you get the odd special case I've had 3 or 4 this weekend bad run of luck I suppose but you have no control over them other than making your listings good and doing the right thing. If you do that you'll be all good most of the time. End of.
Much better to concentrate on the positive 95% of buyers who are decent humans.
If it's giving you an ulcer its time to pack up its not worth that.
The ones that do my head in are those who fail to read listings and then send stupid questions. Time wasters and tyre kickers the scourge of ebay!
Also never ceases to amaze me how many sellers chrun out the ' my kids got the phone' excuse for not paying. Amazing it is. Anyway they give me a good laugh.

I would agree, except it's not just the odd buyer who might leave less than favourable FB etc to worry about. I don't get a lot of inquiries about INR or INAD, but it's frustrating to know that if/when I do, no matter how quickly I resolve it for my buyer, I will be "defective" and potentially have my selling privileges indefinitely suspended. I'm definitely one of those kind of people that would prefer to concentrate on the things I can control, but I struggle to reconcile why eBay decided that a mere inquiry is the sign of a bad seller.
I had one INR message the other day because a buyer purchased multiple quantities of an item that contains multiple pieces, I actually sent just over the total purchased in one package, sorted into two bags, but the buyer didn't count them or anything and thought I only sent them two lots instead of three. I understand why my buyer was confused and/or concerned, and I'll be marking packages with the quantity contained in each bag in the future, but the fact remains if this had happened post-November, I would have a defect despite the fact that my buyer received exactly what they purchased, and in good time.
(And just for the record, that makes me angry at eBay, not buyers, angry that what should be a simple exercise in customer service now inherently contains an element of dread, which should never enter the buyer/seller relationship at all). ๐

Fair point. eBay is such a small proportion of our sales nowdays for which I am truely glad that if we get kicked off I wont give a hoot. I've got a small defect rate make the odd **bleep** up and generally do a good job. If that's not good enough for eBay frankly I dont care they can get stuffed. I've already moved all my paypal business to eway as far as I can and they tried to do a spoof order on my website to check this without telling me the other day. I know this as I traced the IP to an eBay server. Havent they got anything better to do like promoting Dick Smith with massive loads of Negs as a great seller??? Oh the double standards!
