I found my sales have slightly picked up and have had messages from people as i communicate with my customers and they have bought an item as a present for someone else.
I always thank them for their purchase and prompt payment if need be so they know i appreciate it ๐
Anyone else communicate with there customers?
Regards
Michael

My December to date sales are 200% over December to end sales last year.
I answer questions, ask NPBs why they haven't paid, but that is the extent of my communication. Except for, generally, leaving feedback after payment.
I doubt it is anything to do with owning a store, nor communication.
Nothing against you, but I've been attacked all over the place today -
Yes, I do have a store.
Yes, my opinion as a storeholder is relevant.
Yes, I have more feedback than you, considerably.

Me too, ebay send more than enough emails that you cannot turn off wiithout littering the buyer's inbox with even more.
I don't want a penpal when I buy something and unless the item doesn't arrive in a reasonable time I don't want to send or receive any extra emails, I won't read them anyway, they just get deleted out of my inbox without ever reading them.

Our December sales look like being about the same as November. That's across 2x ebay stores.
Communication:
We answer questions as they come in.
We send reminder messages to NPB's 2-days before opening a case. Usually open the case at 8-days. So they get plenty of time.
But other than that very little comm's.

my communication stars were down so I started leaving a message to say hi and thanks and item is posted and have a great day/evening/weekend whatever and found my communication stars went up

Quite the opposite happened to me - once I stopped sending thank you messages my DSRs improved drastically

I sent Christmas cards to my regular customers. That reminded them to
come in to my store and buy, buy, buy.
Goodwill on Earth - works for me

Hi, yes my sales have picked up this last week too & some buyers told me they were gifts (mainly as they wanted them before Christmas I guess)
I think it's important & par for the course to send a postage confirmation email at least, o all customers & not rely on the ebay auto. As a buyer I prefer when a seller goes out of their way to email me personally to let me know when they posted. It's good old fashioned business & I've always done so the whole 8 years selling in ebay. Nice to have some extra sales for a change too...and nice to know somebody else does the same as me (original OP)...most people actually appreciate it and it makes the exchange friendly, more personal & can even create a sense of trust, things often lacking in the modern world...Jilly
