Late Shipment Defects - Ebay's "Additional Support During COVID"

I'm a Top-Rated seller in Melbourne and always post my items by the due date, about 90% of the time early. I've received a late shipment defect that won't be removed despite Ebay's claim to help sellers in lockdowns. I've provided tracking proof that I posted on time. I posted from Melbourne during lockdown to ACT during their lockdown through NSW during their lockdown, all well within dates that are meant to be covered by Ebay's protection. According to Ebay's policy:

Late shipments and seller cancellations

  • We'll automatically remove late shipments and seller cancellation defects, along with any related negative or neutral Feedback, for transactions between the above dates.
  • Your late shipment rate and defect rate in your seller performance standards will be automatically adjusted.

Unfortunately it seems like Ebay is all talk about supporting sellers during these times, punishing sellers for things entirely out of their control. This decision in this instance is meant to be final but I am hoping someone can step in since they are going against their own policy.

Update: I got to chat to a specialist about this on Ebay help, clearly explaining that this was requesting for them to follow their policy which was meant to happen automatically. So third attempt and the defect is to be removed. It took a clear insentience that they follow their policy rather than just asking nicely ๐Ÿ˜‰

One option might be to move out your handling time to give you an additional buffer. I have mine set at 3 days, but did have it as long as 10 days last year. I think I might adjust it again to err on the side of caution, especially in light of current delays.

I agree that Ebay is all talk as often the things they say are supposed to happen automatically never do and sellers always have to chase and chase until it gets rectified.

eBay havenโ€™t helped sellers for years. Total disregard for their most valuable asset.

As a seller, I've had a ton of help from ebay. What did you do wrong, that you are so up in arms about?

As for sellers being the most valuable asset, not real valuable if the buyers disappear. Buyers and sellers are equal. Ebay is nothing without either, so get off your high horse thinking you are superior because you are a seller.

I sell over multiple accounts. Without buyers, my items just keep relisting and relisting. That would go on forever if all the buyers left.
