Listing not showing on internatinoal sites.

I have listed item on ebay.com.au which I wish to sell on ebay.co.uk and ebay.com.

After talking to support they told me that I have to offer worldwide shipping, which I did.

I waited 24hours and looked again.

Then rang them back and was told that I have to "customise" it by setting custom shipping options.

Which I did. I selected all the boxes usa europe asia etc.

And waited again.

It still does not show up on those sites but it does show up on ebay.at and ebay.ie.

Is there an easy solutoin to this?

Re: Listing not showing on internatinoal sites.

Hi Chubchub.

It's pretty straight forward once you get the hang of it.

Under "International Postage" on the listing page, click the option in the drop down menu "Calculated, Cost varies by buyer location", then "Worldwide" option in "Posts to"  and then whichever of the postage service option you prefer - I always click Aus Post registered parcel so you get insurance and a signature.  Track & Pack is the same price if you are sending to an eligible country.

Put in a handling cost if you want, and any countries you wish to exclude.

Then fill out the package details and make sure you are accurate as these are used for calculating the postage on the ebay international sites.  It's no good just telling buyers to request a quote first, if the go ahead and pay there is nothing you can do other than ask the buyer for more money, which you DON'T want to do.

Re: Listing not showing on internatinoal sites.

Thanks for the reply black poppy but I am offering free postage and have selected a flat rate.

If I did what you are saying to do wouldn't that charge them postage ?

Re: Listing not showing on internatinoal sites.

Your listings won't be visible on international sites (either in regular search results or in the worldwide results) unless you meet each site's requirements - for the US & UK, you need recent selling history and feedback (from memory, 10 FB).

Regarding postage, once you have met the requirements, to give your items the best chance of being visible on other sites, you need to quote individual rates, even if you offer a flat worldwide rate (including free). To do that, you need to select 'custom location', choose an individual country, then enter the service / cost. Do that for each country (or at least UK and US), then you can use a worldwide flat rate for everywhere else.

Re: Listing not showing on internatinoal sites.

Yeah, you didn't say you wanted to offer free international postage.  My way will charge them postage

I don't know about flat rates without looking into it further, what digital ghost describes looks like alot more work.  My way does work for UK and US, I've sold quite a bit to these locations, but will charge postage.

Re: Listing not showing on internatinoal sites.

Thank you very much for that reply digital ghost.

I just got off the phone to customer service.

He gave me the same answer as before.

My listing is fine, but Ebay Australia can't tell you what each of the other international sites requirements for listing are as each sites algorithm for listing requirements is different

Fantastic.

So they can't tell me how to get into the listings.

I made the point to him that the representitives should be trained to provide information, and that I did not hold him personally responsible but he should point it out to the management.

He said he would but if ebay are anything like most corporations it won't be heard.

In your reply you mentioned +10 feeback is part of the key.

He mentioned that even some listings with +200 might not meet the listing requirements.

His suggestion to get around the problem is to list on each site individually.

Not exactly ideal as I guess I would be paying more lisitng fees.

With regard to your answer.

First of all I have never really sold much before. So don't have feeback as a seller.

If I got a +10 feeback on the Australian site would that feeback "transfer" to the UK and USA sites or do I have to sell directly on those sites to get the score needed ?

Is this how I should do the postage ?

Re: Listing not showing on internatinoal sites.

Just looked it up to double check, so the exact feedback / history requirements are - your first successful sale is more than 90 days old, and you have at least 10 feedback for selling. Each site may have other specific requirements, but they're the main ones for visibility (they mention other things like an eBay account in good standing and a verified PayPal account, which I presume you already have 🙂 and other ones will be things like policies and conditions for specific items and/or categories - you have to make sure your listings are compliant with site policies if they have any special conditions on other sites).

Regarding the postage - basically, when you do a custom location, you need to only add one at a time so that you can quote a specific cost (even if it's $0 ) to a specific country, so for the first one you would just tick United states, then click on "Offer additional service" to do the same for the UK, until all the postage options you want to do are filled. Doing it that way just makes it more likely (but not guaranteed) that your item will appear in the standard search results on the US and UK sites, once you have the required selling history and feedback. Offering a worldwide flat rate (or other) without going through the process of custom location postage, means if your listings are visible on the site, it will generally be in a separate "international listings" section after all the main results, or after a person selects to view worldwide listings.

Re: Trashie showing up in the UK ... what ... ? where ? how ?

This is weirding me out.

When I first listed it it did indeed show up in the UK then promptly vanished after an hour.

That's when I got onto ebay again.

So it's showing for you ?

I am using this link and it's not for me.
