I ship daily and have a perfect record for over 11 years, my late postge deficit reads as follows.
3 late deliveries reorted by the carrier
2 late delieveries reported by the buyer
My deficit is 1.66
At this rate another 4 and and I will slip below standard and what the hell has the carrier (Aus Post) got to do with reporting late deliveries ?
I cannot do anymore than post every day and I believe some people would winge evn if I teleported the parcels that day..............

Even if an item turns up late I still say yes it arrived on time because I don't want a seller to be punished for ebays and AP mistake.
Why purchase something off a seller and then when given a chance to ruin a sellers lively hood you do that,it's just not in my nature to do this.

I live in Bundaberg so my parcels go to Brisbane and then are sorted there so there is an extra days handling which is no fault of mine, so selllers in rural areas are being punished becuase of where they live..........................

@lurehouse wrote:I hear what your saying but what do we do then, if you do not offer 1 day handling you in turn cannot offer a premium service for that item and you fall way down in the searches. With fishing gear it's nearly impossable to compete against the chinese, so your damned if you do and damned if you do not........................
I totally understand you're competing with the Chinese sellers (I am with some of my items too), but the fact remains, even if you had a 3 day handling time, the buyer is still going to get the item from you way quicker than they would from China. My competition items are often listed 4 or 5 times higher than the Chinese with similar items and people are happy to pay the extra because they want it quickly, not in 4 or 8 weeks time. They also know that if there is a problem, it's easy to sort.
There will always be people who buy from China rather than here because it's a few cents cheaper, regardless of whether there was the option to ship within the hour and guaranteed to have it within 3 days. It's human nature. If you have something for $5 and the Chinese have it for $4.90, some people will take the risk and buy the cheaper one, even though it's literally only a few cents. I'm not suggesting for a second you lower your prices, Just talking about the human nature side of things.
If you have a few items that regularly sell better than others, why not change a few to a longer handling time and see what happens. We all know best match is a crock. You can jump through all of eBay hoops and more and still find you're on page 5. Did you know that a lot of buyers don't care about the premium badge?

I live in a rural area and have no defects. I don't feel I am being punished. I chose to live here. I don't have any defects because everything is arriving before the first estimate date, which makes buyers very happy. I extended my handling time for self preservation. I refuse to be pushed out because of a stupid unworkable system. Plus I have too much stock that I need to unload!

I sell in the collectables category and occasionally car parts (although nothing at the moment). Sorry, but I'm not posting any of my selling ID's on here. Members use posting ID's for a reason.

As I have explained a couple of times now, its the ebay satchels that are hurting me not my customers. Australia Post is reporting me for late delivery , The one I received today was from back in december, I only have 2 defits from ebay customers the rest are from Aus Post so they can shove there sathcels I am going back to the red pre paid satchels to avoid this nonscence. You sell in a different catagory to me, try selling in fishing were you are up against thouisands of chinese products and put your handling times up you would not sell much that's for sure...................

Surely it is better to sell less that not sell at all because you have been defected off ebay?
