Make Non Payers Pay

not sure about other sellers, but i am sick of the bidders who don't pay,i think its time ebay fines these people a minimal fee to go to the seller when they don't pay,my time should be covered for all the extra hassle that i have to go through, any one else?

i am only just going through your response to this common problem and sorry to say but your comment is not correct..for one if you are in a retail store[ as i am also ] then yes people can come and go and stuff you around as at that point they are not even a comitted customer..on ebay when you push the buy it now button or win an auction you are then a commited customer by ebay rules and also by consumer law.you are obliged to follow through on your part of the contract.the seller has done his part and the buyer likewise should do theirs.so the point of this thread is that idiots.and children, and people who cant read,or dont,or simply people that think ebay is just a game!! well they ought to be penalised for not following through on their agreement..and not simply just given a strike..wow thats scary..please dont give me a strike as in the future that will surely scare me into submission....NOT !!

I'm not sure what the rules are in QLD but unless you're a car dealer in NSW

you're only allowed to sell 4 cars per annum.

I would like to know what the limit is in QLD??

My proposal would be buyers receive a message when bidding/buying that a non-refundable 10% fee applies in the event of non-payment. This is automatically deducted from their PayPal account upon purchase.

The proceeds are split between the seller & eBay/PayPal.

Non PayPal account holder buyers are required to have a credit balance with eBay. (which is the default setting).

This system would all but see the end of non-payers.

In the now rare event of non-payment everyone wins (ie seller/eBay/PayPal).

cant we have a more 'fun' penalty

i'm thinking, town square, stocks, rotten fruit and vegetables, lots of throwing.

that would be fun on a cold rainy day.

No, not vegetables. I like vegetables and it would be a waste throwing them at people (I feel the same able throwing eggs, unless they're rotten). I agree with the other 3 options though.

So you want to stop all bidding and buying on ebay?

That would be the outcome if a non-refundable fee was applied.

It would also be impossible to enforce.  Not everyone keeps funds in paypal, and paypal cannot take money from any funding source without authority.

And ebay does not have any access to any of my funds....I am not a seller.

While your system might see the end of non-payers, it would also probably see the end of ebay....I know I would not be buying anything if I knew paypal might raid my funding sources without my authority.
