Missing Item!!

Who's responsibility is it to chase up a missing item buyer/seller?

However it isn't lost. It was at Sunshine West yesterday. And may well be at Chullora tonight. Where it goes from there is anybody's guess, but it is hardly the seller's fault. But you're prepared to punish them anyway.

This is why eBay has a bad rep, seller-wise, and why poster's on boards often end up on special lists. Especially if they are buyers posting on a seller board.

We have enough REAL problems with eBay policies, without impatient buyers adding to them.

Thanks Lyndal -  disappointed with the seller's lack of interest and passing the buck instead of offering to contact Sunshine PO.

Your parcel will arrive, but it could bounce back and forth between Chullora and Sunshine West a few times before it does. It is a common and no-one can explain why. I'd give it another week or so before you go doing anything drastic that may affect the sellers ability to continue selling. Don't be surprised if it goes for a trip to Underwood in Qld on its way too.

If you do decide to claim a refund sooner, even though the tracking states it's still on its way, make sure you repay the seller when it arrives. It's not the sellers fault that AP are incompetent.

It's not at Sunshine PO, it's at Sunshine West MAIL SORTING CENTRE. It's not a matter of contacting them. It's an automated sorting centre which is why there are so many issues. I doubt there would be anyone there that would be able to tell her anything.

It seems like you are going to hang the seller regardless of any advice you've been given here, so why not just speed things up and get it over with. I'm sure the seller will be grateful when you trash their account and risk their selling privileges.

What would that achieve?

AP's terms of service quote 2-7 BUSINESS days.

The 11th was Friday last week. 7 business days from then is Tuesday next week, the 22nd. So it is neither lost nor late and AP would not even begin to look for it before that.

And Sunshine West and Chullora are highly automated sorting centres, not Post Offices.

If you think i'm impatient go with it.

The seller didn't send me the tracking number until I contacted her today and asked for it because by her estimation the item should have been here today.

Once I got the number I find it's gone from Vic to NSW and back to Vic - so I ask the seller if she would mind contacting the PO where it was last scanned in Vic. She responded by telling me it was up to me to chase it up.

All I asked - who's responsibility is it to chase up a missing item -

So now i'm impatient and on the wrong board to ask for help -  Special list LOL hahahaha

Maybe stop being impatient.

There is no point in either you or the seller contacting AP as the item is clearly in the system and it is not even overdue. What you or the seller think is a reasonable delivery time is just conjecture.

And it wasn't the seller's estimate - it was eBay's. They are even less in touch with reality than AP. And the estimate would have been the EARLIEST date of the bracket, not a single date.

Well, I'm afraid I have never heard of a seller given an estimation of a delivery date before. That IS strange

Ebay insert dates on every listing that have zip to do with how long Australia Post actually take

Oh well, first time for everything

I live in NSW the seller lives in Vic no doubt she would be aware they were sorting centres shame she didn't pass that information on to me.
