Is that a statement or a question?

It is well known that there are problems with the mobile app.  It is much safer to use a computer for ebay.

Unfortunately there are many buyers who don't read descriptions properly, not just those using a phone.

Yes, sold a pattern for a beanbag a while ago....and buyer was disappointed she didn't receive a beanbag...LOL....wouldn't $1.50 postage, and listing in patterns with photos have been a clue?

The description isn't even displayed on-screen when a buyer clicks on a listing using a mobile app, just some basic info and they would have to click through to another screen to see things like items specifics or the description. The "Buy Now" button is displayed a lot more prominently than any of the links to see more information.

Whilst the description takes a few screen touches to get to on the mobile app, IMO it is not whether a phone or computer was used to make purchase that is the risk, it is the buyer that is willing to spend their money without reviewing an eBay description properly whether on an app or on regular website.

Re: Mobile phone users not reading item description or missing auction

I have Terms of Sale on all my listings, the buyers evidently don't read them.

As U know buyers within your own State for under 3 kg have cheaper postage than the satchel.  I have had 3 Victorian buyers in the last couple of weeks pay the full postage cost of a 3 kg satchel.  My terms of sale say something like 'Buyers within Victorian please ask for an invoice' or 'Victorian buyers the postage price should be cheaper', etc.

It's a nuisance that I have had to refund part of the postage, so I don't get screamed at for high postage costs - especially when it's their own fault that they did not read the terms of the contract of sale.

I have now taken to putting that proviso into the description.

Just add a note that you won't provide the refund if they do not ask for their invoices updated.

Re: Mobile phone users not reading item description or missing auction

If I have quoted for a flat rate 3kg satchel then that is what I would use, I woudn't bother with telling locals that I could send by a different method cheaper, they won't feel ripped off if they get the service they have paid for and are expecting.
