My item shown as sold when it wasn't

A few years ago I advertised an item only to find a month or two later it was shown as sold. why?

You should have asked when it happened, rather than a few years after the event as eBay changes over time.

What went on a few years ago may not be what goes on now, and asking members for an explanation is an exercise in futility IMO.

Why wait a few years to ask?

Was this pre or post Managed Payments (been in over 4 years)

Where was it shown as sold, and how do you know it had not actually sold (and either the buyer did not pay, or you were not signed up to Managed Payments, and hence did not get paid?)

Seriously though, I don't know how you can expect other members to know why something happened years ago, if you wait all this time to ask
