Combined postage how can my customer request an invoice

Hi, I have a customer who wants to buy several items.  I want to give him combined postage.  He is unable to request an invoice from 'Buy it now' or from the cart.  My selling does say combined postage before 5 days.  What do I need to do as the seller, and what does my customer need to do as the buyer please

From what I've read on the forums, it seems that the app doesn't give this option. Maybe they're using the app?

There are many reasons why you can't combine -

You have Immediate Payment set;

The items have different postage methods;

Any of the items have an active seller promotion;

Probably others.

If the buyer is okay with it, I set up a specific listing for the selected items. Failing that, the buyer can go ahead with the purchase, then you refund the excess.

eBay no longer retain fees for partial refunds, so you won't lose out. Just a bit more bookkeeping.

In addition to suggestions by Dave and pnc you can't ask for invoice/combined shipping on items listed with free shipping. If buyer can't/doesn't request total do as Dave suggests. Some sellers refund excess, some don't.

and further to above, depending on what is being  bought/sold, I have offered buyers either a refund on excess postage or an additional item (s). Buyers have been pleased with the latter option several times (on another ebay account with handmade items)
