Have all ways had lots of support from ebay as a seller and as a buyer.
What is the problem maybe someone here might be able to help?
What are we paying them for? To allow us to use their site to sell stuff.

It's all set out quite clearly in the User Agreement.
That's that section that you scrolled past without reading, but ticked the box to say that you had when you joined eBay.
Maybe, it's time to read it now, eh?
May I also take this opportunity to suggest that you make yourself familiar with the content contained in the Site Map which is found at the bottom of most pages and also, up the top right of your screen there is a tab called Customer Support. Click on that and have a poke aroiund in there - heaps of very useful information, including eBay Policies etc.

You are paying ebay for giving you worldwide access to buyers who may want to purchase your items.
Anything they offer over and above that is as a courtesy, I have always found them very helpful on the few occasions I have had to contact them.
