Negative feedback dilemma

I would like to ask for advice on this one.  A buyer left me negative feedback after a month claiming the product was damaged. She didn't contact me at all. I respond by offering her a full refund. She then responded by saying she will remove her negative feedback if I give her the refund which I then did.  Now she is still not removing the feedback! Are people really that bad? Seems that way. Any advice?

Negative feedback dilemma

Buyer feedback eh

.....useless eh......

feedback left for others still outs the scammers

..... I bet ebay plugs that unwanted buyer info leak

..... because once they do all sellers will just have to put the fraud down to shrinkage...... and ultimately the consumer ends up footing that bill

http://www.axisinsurancegroup.com/?page_id=1188

However I note that

ebay made a profit from the OPs sale,

Paypal made a profit from the OPs sale

...the scammer ATM has gained fiscally from the OPs sale...

Crikey nearly everybody is happy

... yep once that buyer feedback left for others is blocked.....

ALMOST everybody will be happy

............ except for the seller 😐

they reckon a poofteenth of a % of ebayers actually know about or access these forums

... I wonder if the OPs problem is a mountain or a molehill?

one thing I am sure of is anecdotally they are not Robinson Crusoe...However evolving privacy laws HIDE THAT DATA especially in Europe.

Once our privacy laws catch up

........... How can anybody uncover the buyers "incidence of terrible terrible luck"??

Not possible

Privacy laws in some European countries do not allow us to pass on information involving bidders from those countries. If you want to find all auctions this user has bid on, please contact the user directly by email.

What is that all about?

Is the OP registered in Europe?

Negative feedback dilemma

I too think it may be the same buyer who was 'discussed' on the boards a while ago.

They are only succeeding because sellers are falling for the sob stories. I would take one look at their feedback left for others and tell them they would have to return for a refund which they obviously won't do as they just want a freebie.

I would far rather have a neg than be out of pocket and would only refund without return if I saw photos of the damage, an official condition report or other compelling evidence the goods were not as described.

I don't think there is any point in contacting Paypal as it doesn't sound like she is actually opening disputes, the sellers are just refunding on a voluntary basis.

If every seller who she has negged and not revised as promised rings ebay and asks for the neg to be removed on the grounds that the seller agreed to change it if they got a refund then ebay may do something bit I wouldn't bank on it.

It would certainly be a good idea for the sellers to collaborate and perhaps inform the buyer that they were going to, as a group, take action against her for fraud as it is very obvious that they are obtaining goods by deception.

OP - I suggest you seek feedback removal - I reported this buyer and have had a response from ebay customer support - extract below -

I've checked the information you sent us and I can confirm that xx user id xx left inappropriate Feedback. In our policy, we don't allow members to use Feedback extortion in order to receive a refund.

Threatening to leave negative Feedback, demanding the withdrawal of Feedback, or demanding a refund in exchange for not leaving a Negative Feedback is considered Feedback extortion.

I know that you are really disappointed with the way your buyer acted. I am glad to inform you that I have taken appropriate action on xxuseridxx account based on our policies. For privacy reasons, we can't discuss the exact details of the investigation.

I am attaching a link that you can review to learn more about our Feedback Abuse and Removal policy. Please go to:

how can I find out this buyers ID so I can add it to my BBL? I can only see 1 neg for the OP, and I've looked at the 'feedback left for others' of that buyers' user ID they've only left 2 negs in the last year and a half, so I think it's not the same one as the OP is referring to. thanks.

Only 2 negs and one neutral left on the buyers Feedback Left list.

Unfortunately the OP's neg is still there.

Not sure if this is a good result or not.

It is great for individual sellers to get a neg removed but in future the buyer is going to appear a lily white angel who never leaves negs.

I think there needs to be some sort of record on the buyer's account, similar to the record of Feedback Revisions.
