I was passed this image via my Facebook account this morning.
Apparently it's a scam. So if you receive one be cautious how you deal with it.
Anyone else seen this or received such a letter?

Hmmmmmm ..... not sure about this. ARL is a Iegitimate collection agency, so googling a phone number for ARL might be a start for the person who received this letter in the first place. What action did the recipient of this letter take (other than posting it on facebook)?

Unknown to me.

If you Google ARL the logo looks legit.
I hope the recipient of the letter has checked it out thoroughly rather than just posted it on Facebook....they may have egg on their faces.

I just Googled the phone number and it does lead back to ARL, but it also led to a bunch of discussion boards on this scamming topic and quite a few people going back a few years who have been receiving unsolicited calls from this same number.
Some of them say they have nothing to do with ebay or paypal and still the company is trying to recover debt on behalf of ebay.
So it sure looks like something dodgey is going on.
So if you get a call or one of these letters then I would be treating it with some degree of caution caution.
By the way that is not my name on top of the letter. The JPG file was passed to me this way.

I haven't seen one from ARL but mum received one allegedly from another company (don't recall the name but also a legitimate collection agency).
They look legitimate but in that case, as in this, the phone number provided is one digit away from the legitimate company's phone number.
ARL's is 1300 303 852

I realise you were not the recipient of the letter Clarry....I know you don't live in Tennant Creek.
It just looked authentic enough to me to warrant a closer look rather than just deleting it or ignoring it
