I've always had goosebumps whenever new member buys from me as a lot of problems come from these buyers. Too often they don't pay, or they simply leave negative or neutral without any communication. Recently I had a buyer who gave 3 Unpositive out of her 4 transactions. I picked up the phone and explained the situation, send a feedback revision and now just hoping this buyer change her mind... so frustrating!
In the past eBay customer service has been hopeless in removing feedback like this, so I haven't tried calling them again.
Anyone feels the same?
Why doesn't eBay do anything about this???

I do think some new buyers are not aware of the processes in place if they come across a problem and assume all sellers are out to get them and think feedback is the only retaliation.
For example if an item doesn't arrive and perhaps it has not cost too much, they assume they can't get anything done about it, so hit with the neg's.
Not as bad as it used to be as there is there is now a note asking if you have attempted to resolve with your seller before leaving a neg, but many just do it as a knee jerk reaction.
Which is why I wish eBay would put in place a stopgap, whereby a buyer must contact a seller first, then if no response within say 24-48 hours - neg away.
Surely it couldn't be that hard.

BTW - thank you, that one is now on my BBL 😉

I think that a lot of new buyers assume that a transactions that was processed properly and without problems but was not in some way exceptional is worth 3 or 4 stars, or 'average', I know I was like that when I first started buying here years ago. They don't know how a lower score affects the seller and are not trying to be difficult or nasty.

You have 2 NEGs because people thought your sizing is wrong; having waist measurement would have helped. eBay may have removed the NEGs if that info was in the listing. Not sure why you would be worrying about the neutral; it has no impact on anything and I doubt it would put off any buyer.

if you’re not completely happy, please contact us immediately and give us the chance to correct the situation before posting feedback, as this offer becomes null and void if you leave negative or neutral feedback without first giving us the opportunity
So, if a member leaves you the feedback they feel is warranted, you would not correct the situation?
And you're here saying NEW buyers are harsh?
Wow.

Statistically, i do get a lot more issues with new buyers.. A lot of them don't pay, wasting sellers time. And they don't value feedbacks as much as older members. It's alright if you disagree, which is why this is posted in Discussion Forum and not Q&A.
I'm not saying ALL NEW buyers are harsh, but the harsh ones tend to come from new buyers.
If the negative feedback is warranted, i would accept it and learn from it. But if it comes from someone who in 3 out of 4 occasions gave un-positive feedback, that pissed me off.

It is a risk you take when you don't give any measurements, when I am selling things like that I give the flat and stretched waist measurements, same for the leg opening and I give the length from gusset to waist and of the side seams.
I have never had a newbie give me a neg and of the very few non payers I have had there have been no more of them than high feedback ids.
I have had a few that have taken some time and needed some hand holding but the up side of helping them through it is that they often become repeat customers.

Hi phorum_junkie,
Thanks so much for the input! Do you have any example of listings that give the measurements as you mentioned? I am not familiar with this kind of measurement so any help would be great!

Given you mainly seem to list knickers, obviously you can't measure much except the waistband.
