New ebayers - either great to deal with, or clueless and problematic

I received an email today from a person who had just won a listing ($14) starting off with "you have no shame", then continued, telling me I wasted her time, sold a fake, I should do blah blah blah etc. I replied courteously, apologised for what she takes to be a fake, and suggested that in future she read description, look at photos, contact seller before she bids. Because she only has 28 feedbacks I suppose it is a case of not knowing the correct procedures. Sometimes I go "oh oh" when I realise a new ebayer has purchased my item 🙂 long live the blocked buyers list, one of the few ways sellers have rights

I am unsure, I have posted pictures of it in another section of ebay asking for help with ID. I will not relist it unless I get confirmation it is authentic, as I pride myself on not selling fakes.

like by "just won an auction" do you mean they won it and contacted you right away with their spiel before you had shipped the item, or have you shipped the item etc and "just won" was actually a few days ago etc....

It was within two minutes of the auction ending, before I had time to send the invoice. No payment was involved, it did not get that far. . I did research before I listed the item as I pride myself on being an honest seller, on this occasion it appears I failed to do so adequately. I wish she/he had looked at the particular photo of the base, which clearly showed the maker's mark, before bidding. As a collector of that particular manufacturer, she/he may then have been able to verify authenticity, or not. I also wish she/he had communicated in a courteous manner like the majority of us do

I am new to selling, but have bought heaps of stuff on ebay.  I have a buyer with 100% positive feedback with awful and scathing comments because there is not mechanism in the drop down menus to make negative strikes against them.  This buyer had about 36 transactions in her history and most of them were about outbidding people then not paying...yes...have learnt about the power of the block...dieselgirld

Also had a buyer this morning demanding to know where her puchase was that she immediately paid for via paypal on Thursday...?  go figure...d

If you have any doubts, state it in your listing. Maybe do a BIN price of an authentic item but allow offers for the people who may think it's fake or just may not think it's worth the full price because you can't confirm it. Once/if you get confirmation either way, you can update the listing.

thanks I await hearing from the company in the UK selling an item with the exact mark on the base; if they can add any further information, I will relist with confidence. Until then I will put the item aside.
