I received in the mail some trial express post click & send satchels with a letter attached stating that these satchels are planned for release over the coming weeks and there are some samples enclosed. They will also be available via the Aust Post online store - the same as the regular satchels.
Going by the code at the back of these new satchels, they are identical to the regular c&s satchels so no doubt most people would opt for the express version if they price will be the same!
Anyone else received these satchels yet? They are not yet available from the online store.

Sorry to revive an old post but I think it's relevant today.
I thought the Express Post satchels would be on the Australia Post eBay store today but no...
I sent all my parcels out last night with click and send so I wouldn't be paying the higher price today so I can't test it and not sure if the express option is on their website today 😞
Anyone know if express is available on C&S today?

Someone asked on the AP FB page and they were told that 'there are no plans to implement the Express Post satchels on C&S in the forseeable future' ... or some such response.
Looks like it seemed like a good idea late last year, but has now been ditched.

Small sellers like me are in trouble start today... probably even more trouble after 1st May with eBay decreasing fees :_|

It's great, isn't it? The one time they give their customers something back, it's something they can't use. (At least, not for the promised purpose).

You're sooo right DG. Problem is, some of us DON'T have a choice. I would encourage some of the bigger sellers to go straight to a good courier and negotiate deals. However, I won't have any such luck 😞

My courier options are also quite limited, and the services I can access easily are generally higher still than AP. Pretty much all my parcel items go in a 500g satchel, and prices aside, I'm actually reluctant to use couriers for them due to being less convenient for buyers.
I'm going to give it a few weeks to see how the new postage prices affect sales on those items, perhaps experiment a little with a couple of strategies. I prefer to charge actual postage separately for both single and combined items, but now that the P&H is a significantly higher percentage of most of my item's cost, I think I might see how reducing postage and adding a little to prices goes.

The vast bulk of my recent sales have been large letter. I've sold 4 books today that are all 500g satchels, at a higher postage price than if they'd have bought them last week. Go figure.

I received the free samples months ago too, and haven't thought much about it. Just found that they are now available for sale here: http://uat.shop.auspost.com.au/ebaysatchels
So it surely can't be long before they can be used. Sounds like when the option is live, it will just appear during the C&S process alongside Standard Post. Prices will be interesting to see.
