Hi guys
Just want to mention as some of you previously have - the increase in non - paying buyers. It really getting ridiculous !!
Every second item I sell these days is to a non - paying buyer. One example of this is an ebayer who purchased one of my items,
It turns out this ebayer has hundreds of comments stating they are a non-paying buyer so I would assume they have hundreds of strikes, Yet surprise surprise NOTHING HAS HAPPENED & they are still an active user !
Ebay need to do something about this !!
Also, on another note, sellers please remember to always to put your tracking number in paypal as soon as you send the item!
I usually do this, but on one occasion I forgot to, & I sent out the item as usual
ONE MONTH later the buyer says I am a scammer and that I never sent the item & they are going to open a claim
Lucky , i keep all my tracking numbers in a book , I Looked on the post website and it has been delivered over 3 weeks ago to their registered paypal address
I sent them an email and said I have now put the tracking number in paypal and that it was delivered over 3 weeks ago, haven't heard back since
So i guess they were trying to keep the item and get their money back, please be wary of this !

I am also getting sick and tired of non paying buyers as I have another non payer but when I look at their feedback I just can't believe that they have paid for all other items that they have purchased exactly the same time frame as they won my item with all the sellers stating they received instant payment from the buyer and how fantastic the buyer is,what a load of garbage. What is this buyer thinking? hopefully they get the strike and find that they can't buy for a while,I've already blocked the buyer and I have lost count on how many I have blocked so far this year.I am also a buyer and I always pay straight away, this is getting beyond the joke now especially when you are relying on the money around this time of the year.

Set blocks and open cases when possible. And don't forget to close them.
Depending on the time frame. How long since they 'bought'?

Its been over a week since the auction eneded. I dont know what "reasonable" time fram is, as i always pay straight away. I have sent them a reminder, but no response.

I find if people do not make contact within 24 hours they usually become non payers. (there are a few exceptions)
set your preferences to automatically open an unpaid item dispute after four days and automatically close it after four more.
That way they will get an automatic unpaid item strike (which is about as strong as a half sucked mint) and then set your prefernces to block bidders with two or more unpaid item strikes.
In this case I also send a reminder after two days as Ebay send one after three days then on day four the process should start automatically.
It is frustrating especially if there is a losing bidder as it is too late to get them an item for Christmas, by the time you wait 8 days for the process to finish.
That means you and the customer both lose out.
Merry Christmas to all.

In this case I also send a reminder after two days as Ebay send one after three days then on day four the process should start automatically.
The ebay reminder is sent after 48 hours, not 3 days so if you are emailing on day 2 you are doubling up.
set your preferences to automatically open an unpaid item dispute after four days and automatically close it after four more.
I have never managed to get that to work and when I asked ebay was told it was because I offered other payment methods than Paypal so to use the automated disputes I would have to ditch bank deposit.

I fully believe I won't get payment on an item I just sold (not too far south of $200).
In the site preferences, I think this sums it up nicely, as an option:
Block bidders and buyers who have received 2 Unpaid Item strike(s) within 1 month(s)
