Non-payment issue

Hi everyone,

I sold an item that the buyer was meant to pick up. The first time she was meant to pick up, she didn't show up, and messaged the next day to say there had been an emergency. Fine, that's perfectly understandable. However, there were several more no-shows, where she cancelled just before she was meant to pick up the item, or just never showed up, or didn't get in touch to reschedule. This continued for 4 weeks, and unfortunately, it was day 33 when I tried to leave a non-payment dispute to get my fees back. The ebay cutoff is 32 days, so bummer. I have instead opted to cancel the transaction, which the buyer needs to approve, but she has not approved it, and I don't think she intends to.

She has been calling me from a private number, so I have no way of contacting her apart from ebay.

Any ideas? It's not a big ticket item, but it is annoying to pay a final fee and insertion fee for an item that didn't actually sell.

Cheers!

Re: Non-payment issue

I'm only able to contact her through ebay, so that has worked out ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Non-payment issue

Sounds like that buyer of the blender may have been an eBay shoplifter. They demand a refund due to something being wrong, but refuse to return the item. I bet if you look at their feedback left for others, there are probably quite a few more negatives in there from not getting their own way.

It's hard when you don't have a lot of feedback, because one neg can knock you for six. It will disappear next month, so you should be back to 100%. It won't physically disappear, but it won't affect your feedback score anymore.

After 7 days have passed (so, on the 8th day), you should be able to close the cancellation manually and receive a FVF credit.

That's a relief. Hopefully she won't be spiteful and refuse to cancel the transaction- any idea what would happen then?

Re: Non-payment issue

If she declines, you lose your fees and she also gets to leave feedback, almost certainly negative.

No more cancelled sales for me; It's a UPI and a strike all the way. Screw 'em. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Yep, unfortunately, I was a day late for the UPI ๐Ÿ˜ž That's what happens when you give too much leeway- noted!
