Non-received item - Paypal claim

I recently posted an item and the buyer hasnt received it yet. He messaged me twice and I told him the date, time and the PO it was posted from. I also emailed him a copy of the receipt.

He then told me he had opened a case with Paypal as he was covered by them for loss.

Immediately Paypal puts a freeze on the funds ($70) and I replied in the resolution centre that the item had been sent. This was 10 days ago and the buyer hasn't responded at all to the dispute since.

I offer registered post with tracking and signature on all my items and the buyer chose not to register. The item was sent to his work address also, which I dont like doing as you dont know who is receiving the parcel.

My questions are: should I escalate the dispute to a claim and will Paypal see in my favour as he didnt choose the registered option?

Barbie, you have dragged up a 2 year old thread.

The danger in doing this is that many things change on ebay in that lenght of time.....much of the information is out of date.

Please do not do it again.

Not to mention that the member she replied to isn't even a member of eBay any more, so will never see the message any way.

Re: Non-received item - Paypal claim

Why open a case? The buyer has only opened a dispitue not a full case which if not escalated will close.

Perhaps the buyer has now got his item is happy and doesnt need to go to full case but hasnt closed the dispute? This has happened to me before.

I'd let sleeping dogs lie.

I would suggest that either the buyer got their item or the dispute was closed given that it occured over 2 years ago.......

 I ordered Kirkland Signature Omega-3 Fish Oil, DHA/EPA, 400 SGels (370523456345).

They provided me the estimated delivery time  12-30 November, 2014. But still I did not receive the item.

I would like to make a complain against the seller.

YOu can send me email to saziap@yahoo.com

 Thanks....

You're not talking to eBay here, we are just other members like yourself. What was the purchase date of your purchase? You have probably left it too late to do anything about it now, especially if you bought before Nov. Did you contact the seller to tell them your item didn't arrive? They didn't give you the estimate that's in the listing, eBay puts that there. Sellers have no control over those dates.

Never let it get this far before you do anything, you only have a set time to claim for item not received. You could try opening an item not received through PayPal, but there are no guarantees it will work give then time frame. If you bought before November, then you won't be able to open a case. Contact the seller and let them know.

Re: Non-received item - Paypal claim

Anything other than ebay labels, click & send, or signed for post. You take the risk..Is it worth paying extra for sign for on every parcel. No, but that is how insurance works.

TBH for parcels the means are there to send to a recorded imported address linked to item and transaction number..Use it.

For smaller cheaper items via letter rate, you just take an educated risk based on loss rates vs cost of prevention.

I dont think post code receipts should be acceptable as you could very well have stuffed up the address. There is no proof you haven't made a mistake with address, and there are no records to prove otherwise.

Protect yourselves people or accept the risk.

If buyer has gone silent it could very well have been delivered late and they are just seeing what happens.

a receipt with a postcode should have a tracking number also, proof enough.

Re: Non-received item - Paypal claim

hi with the new rules on returns you have no choice but to at least track every item you send for your own protection

i had been stung several times before this and had to refund 2 or 3  INR without tracking

so i decided not to list the tracking numbers even though i had them so that if any dishonest buyers were to buy my items and

tried to scam a freebie then i could upload the tracking and proove that it had been delivered

in an INR case the first step for a seller is 2 choices

*offer refund

*give tracking details

if you have already given tracking details then remains only one choice

*offer refund

on the other hand if you add your tracking details at this point of a case ebay physically check it and say ok

delivered end of story

twice this has happened since november and both times ruling has gone in my favour with no defects

.

Re: Non-received item - Paypal claim

It is not really as simple as that opmania, especially when Australia Post gets it wrong.

On the 22nd December I paid for an item in Victoria, not expecting to see it till possibly the New Year.   It actually arrived on the 29th December.  I did not have time to leave feedback immediately but when I did I checked the tracking to refresh my memory as to when it was paid/posted.  I got the shock of my life to find that it had been delivered to an addres in Victoria (I am in Sydney) on the 23rd December, the day after it was posted.   To this day the tracking is still showing that the parcel was delivered in a different state the day after it was posted.

If I had a mind to be dishonest the poor seller would not have a leg to stand on and I would have had a fee item.
