Not sure how long this thread will last -
PLEASE, whenever you come across an OLD thread in AC and DB that has been re-opened and it contains incorrect information pertaining to eBay currently, PLEASE Report it to the Mods and ask them to LOCK IT.
Maybe if enough ask, they will do!

I wholeheartedly agree Kat, there is one mod that has been actively locking out of date threads.
Well done kh-stanley.

Totally agree , I have asked so, so many times

I'll second that

It would also help if people searched by date when they are looking for something.... If they searched by date they would see all recent threads at the top. Maybe it should be the default instead of "best match".

There are only 2 sort options - newest to Oldest and Oldest to Newest.
The problem is that if a member types their question in the box at the top of the board, rather than starting a new thread, eBay's 'helpful' system shows threads related (even tenuously) to that question, regardless of age.
If eBay, as promised years ago, locked old threads it wouldn't be an issue. But it seems having somebody spend a few minutes a day for a month or so locking threads isn't a priority. Certainly a lower one than stuffing the system up unnecessarily.
You'd think they would want to look after their free customer service staff, rather than alienating them.

Yeah, that prompting the question tool needs to go.
I was reporting the old threads, but figured it will be better if others do it as well, more push rather than looking just like one p!ssed of boardie LOL

Yes, that's what I meant - the box at the top... The so-called best matches sometimes are several years old.

I wish it could be like Amazon whereby threads are locked after 6 months of no activity.
