So in the last fortnight I have had two sales to European buyers (all my items are buy-it-nows) and my preferences clearly state will post to Australia only! I've been selling on here for many years and this is the first time this has happened. I thought there were programs in place to prevent this! I was stupid and sent the first one a cancel the item notice with an explanation, however, then I got hit with a defect notice from eBay because I initiated the cancel (which under the circumstances I felt was really unfair). So overnight I find I have another European sale, but this time I have sent an explanatory note and asked them to cancel.......... I'm a little annoyed because it means I have items "off the shelf" while waiting for responses from the buyers and the fault is eBays! Has anyone else experienced someting similar lately? Is it just another eBay glitch that has appeared?

I had the same thing happen to me 3 times in the 3 month period for the defect rule and rang them yesterday asking why I had the defects, apparently you are to contact the buyer, โexplaining you do not post over seasโ and then after 1 week (giving them time to reply) -- (which is what I did not do, because I do not post overseas) if you get no reply you can start the NPP and then wait the usual length of time to get your fees back. According to ebay it is part of their global selling program ????? if the buyer cannot find what they want in their country it sends them to a country that has the item. ????
Also to stop future sales go to โaccountโ โpreferenceโ โbuyer requirementsโ click edit โbuyers in locations to which I don't postโ is ticked then make sure you press โsubmitโ down the button, I had all this set but apparently I had to redo it ???? not sure why and they could not tell me why.

As wel as not quoting International postage have you got the buyer block in place that prevents a member with a primary postal address you do not post to from bidding? You may have had it chcked in the past but a few months ago during one of ebay's downupdates it may have become deselected.

If they don't pay then just open an unpaid item case after 4-days and close it after another 4-days. Then you get back your FVFs and no defect.
About the defect.... call CS and explain what has happened. I would think they should reverse the defect, as its pretty clear in your listings that you do not sell O/S.

Hi, thanks for the replies. Yes, I had had all the countries I don't post to checked, but with the changes they had all disappeared. They are all now firmly back in place. Ebay help responded tonight as well, thanks.
