I posted an item last week from Melbourne to USA, using the address provided by Paypal. The buyer has contacted me stating that it was delivered by USPS to the wrong address, and is showing as delivered and signed for on tracking. It was over $2.5K so we're not talking small fry. I have a nagging feeling I'm being scammed. What is my responsibility in this case? I've trawled the ebay help pages, but to no avail. I emailed ebay and they say they will get back to me within 5 days. Meanwhile, I'm feeling absolutely sick about it. Any opinions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I remember that! She wanted the glass case and kept it and sent back the rest.
I think it was scrabble though, not monopoly. I may be wrong on that though,

When it comes to an item of this value the seller protection is pretty much the same, with Paypal seller protection you only have to provide proof of sending with items up to a certain value (can't remember off hand what it is) and after that you have to have proof of delivery. For something of that value I would have sent it with every bit of tracking, insurance and proof of delivery, including signature required, that I would need for a US federal investigation never mind Paypal or ebay protction.

The buyer has registered a Paypal dispute against me. I have responded with a copy of the Australia Post receipt and tracking number, and have requested Australia Post provide a copy of the signed delivery receipt (which I'm assuming is possible). Is there anything else I can do to support my position? And can I just say thank goodness for the forums. I emailed ebay, and after several days I received a response saying I had nothing worry about. Is it worth trying to speak with someone at Paypal? It really isn't easy to get information from either ebay or paypal in this situation, but thanks to the forum folk, I'm feeling a little less sick about this disaster.
