So now Ebay are withholding money.... I have to send a $300 dolar item to a customer without receiving a dollar for it untill 21 days later. Does anyone in Ebay actually have a clue what they are doing? Do they have any business experience at all?
Would like to know if anyone can recommend any alternative selling venues - thinking it's about time to abandon ship here.

The fact remains that if you buyer doesn't like something they can return it within 30 days (I think thats what it is) and get a full refund through ebay, ebay just want to make sure that the money is there if something happens, particularly for new sellers. I have 2 account in good standing for over 5 years yet my new account has this restriction in place.
Aliexpress uses an escrow service that is similar, maybe because ebay is splitting with paypal they basically need something like this. Surly they can't be paying money out, out of thier own pockets.

Yeah not good!
I found out today from ebay, one main reason Monies are also withheld for upto 21days is if you sell under 25 items per month.. I've been buying and selling for around 5yrs and have 100% positive feedback with not one return, exchange or refund and my recent sales are being withheld!
Paypal released some of my sales today and they are going to have a meeting with ebay as they have been getting numerous complaints every-day since this was implemented!
It is a ridiculous policy that will turn off many old and new ebay users!

Ebay's policy... paypal have been getting numerous complaints everyday and they are not happy with it either, a change will happen, power to the people ๐

I am just an occaisional non professional eBay seller and have a 100% feedback but I will never be able to maintain 25 feedbacks or sales per month or even $250 in sales. I have been with eBay for over 10 years. Not having access to my own money in a reasonable time frame is going to give me great issue. I am thinking local markets and garage sales may be a better option. There must be someone aware of how this is effecting genuine small time sellers. Very disapointed with eBay.

Same deal for me. Sick to death of it already.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but the way I interpret this policy is
If it has been more than 90 days since your FIRST EVER SALE
AND
You have over 25 feedback
AND
you have made over $250 in sales
there is NO HOLD.
I don't see where it says you have to do this 25/250 each month......?

These payment withheld conditions are only for new sellers/selling ID's. Not for all sellers who sell less than 25 items a month and/or less than $250 in sales since opening account.
Payments from your buyers will only be held for new sellers if:
Others are getting confused here.

I have met all the conditions mentioned yet I still have a 21 day hold on my PayPal money.
Also I have items that I have marked as sent with a tracking number and PayPal still has them listed as "OK to Ship".
Not impressed.
Also as with others a great many buyers do not leave feedback and I also have many sales that are local pick up so therefore no feedback or ability to list as "sent".
And would it be my paranoia to suggest that eBay and PayPal by doing this are able to hold onto greater amounts of money therefore benefiting from any interest earned on the funds, it would be a tidy sum being held at any one time, I would suggest this is another manner in which to make some dollars by reducing customer service. No sorry could not be true, just my paranoia.
